"This is a multi-building facility that has a theme that I would describe as "outdoor activities." My room featured this quote by John Muir painted on the wall: "Between every two pines there is a doorway to a new world." There was a second quote on another wall with the same theme. Room and hotel features are modern. It is obviously that this is a newer facility. The area around the hotel appears safe, and the rooms are nice and quiet. It's very dark at night, perfect for a sound sleep. There are two amazing swimming pools adjacent to the river, although I did not avail myself of their use. The hotel does not offer a complimentary breakfast, but the adjacent Osprey restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and is reasonably priced. Staff on the property were friendly and accommodating."

"So obviously, this is a former hospital that has been transformed into a boutique hotel by the Ruby group. It was a bit unnerving walking across the front cat walk into the main lobby because it still had that hospital feel. But the staff that greeted us were very friendly and helpful and looking into the breakfast room it looked to clean and inviting so while our first impressions were uncertain, the staff and cleanliness improved them. We got to our room on the fourth floor and the room was clean, but looked like your standard hotel room one king bed, a desk and a chair; although I should comment that the chair was a full La-Z-Boy recliner, which was more comfortable than any other side chair I had been in in a hotel room. The only drawback was that the room still had that faint hospital smell. It struck me as odd that hospital that was recently transformed still had that unique odour that hospitals have. However, we opened the window and within a couple hours it was un noticeable One other drawback is that parking is quite difficult as the stalls are very small and both nights we were there the parking lot was in overflow and we had to park on the street. Breakfast in the morning was good. There was both hot and cold options and the breakfast room got lots of natural sunlight and had a nice fireplace. But once again, two smaller room for the amount of guests staying there. Breakfast was often overcrowded I’d still recommend for travellers on a budget."

"Beautiful property. Room was clean and large. Very well appointed. Loved that I could have my dog with me. There was an unexplained fee called an amenities destination fee $20, daily. We were given $10 credit for food a day for only 1 person, not both of us. The $10 had to be used each day and couldn’t be accumulated. But it was nice to have money toward getting breakfast there. The waitress was so sweet at breakfast and remembered my room number the second day. Spokane is a nice city and it was clean and we felt safe. I would definitely recommend The Davenport because of its spectacular beauty."
