DON’T BOOK. Hotel is closed

They took my money with prepay only option and they are CLOSED. The building is locked and shut down. Now I’m trying to get my money back with very poor help from hotels.com.

There was a closed sign on door and no answer when pounded on door. No cars in parking lot. 3 rooms had lights on but mattresses were off bed and standing against wall. No lights on outside of hotel Looked like bates motel on psycho.

It was a basic hotel with nothing special. Room was clean but AC wasnt cold and whole place needs updating. Seemed to be a bit high on cost. Lastly continental breakfast left a bit to be desired.

Obvious attempts underway to update property. Very quiet night, slept great. Lady at the desk was very helpful and seemingly had little help. She was doing it all pretty much herself.

Of the low rent motels I have stayed at while biking across Minnesota, this was probably the nicest. The room was clean and modern. Everything worked. The town has nothing going for it at all. If you happen to spend the night, by all means avoid the Mexican restaurant near by. It was expensive and downright bad.

The mgr said they finally were fully staffed. It is clear that up to our stay, they were not fully staffed and trained. The "free breakfast" was not what we have found in other motels- more like raiding the kitchen at home as to what was left in the fridge- pretty bleak.

The sheets where dirty, the breakfast was none existance, only thing to drink was coffee no juice, and waffles was the only option for breakfast no taost or anything else. Very disappointing. Room took forever to cool since AC was not on until we got to room.

We didn’t GET to stay! They changed our reservation to Staples when we booked for Brainerd without telling us. We got to the Brainerd address to find an empty building with a sign die “Digital Student Housing”. We found another place to stay but were almost late for the family wedding. It made a stressful day even worse. IF I had wanted to drive the 30 plus miles to Staples, I would have booked Staples. I WANTED Brainerd. This was totally unacceptable.

Desk clerk had 10 guests waiting 45 minutes to check in while he went to Wal-Mart and then had an attitude with guests. Toilet plugged but not resolved. No shower curtain on shower. Towel rack improperly installed and fell off wall. Contential breakfast offering was a few sticky buns and instant oatmeal with no way to heat water and no spoons. Handle for hot water faucet missing in Breakfast room. Desk clerk entered room twice during evening using passkey without knocking. Management gave impression of not caring at all.

Honestly, it was not great. The young lady at the front was as helpful as she could be. However, there was no tv, ice machine was out, half the lights didn’t work in the room, there also was no iron or iron board in the hotel. I was there because my Uncles funeral was the next day, so that made it tough. Nothing was offered to me and that was more disappointing than anything. Not that I needed something and customer service is first and foremost doing something for your customers, when amenities or whatever it may be are unavailable. Thanks, Andrew
