Hyatt Place St. Paul/Downtown
6/10 Okay
"It was okay. The room had high ceilings, definitely felt smaller than 600sqft. I appreciated that it was pet friendly, I did not appreciate being told there was a “$100 deposit” only to have my reciept at the end of the stay say “$100 pet cleaning fee.” That feels dishonest when we left our room spotless. There were two Valets when I stayed, one was great. One valet was awkward, seemed high or just spaced out of it. He’d watch from the inside while I struggled with a baby, a dog and whatever bags I had. You have to physically ask for help for anything and everything and staff is very young, and seem put out by it. I wasn’t asking for much and tipped $20 each time someone did help me. valet parking is on a ramp in heavy traffic in the middle of downtown, they have large roller carts for luggage that are old and don’t push straight. It is difficult to get out of your car without almost being hit, on my last day the good valet (a black guy if that helps identify the good valet for management) was very helpful getting my bags to my car and even loaded them for me. It took me and 2 employees to safely get the roller cart to my car because it doesn’t steer straight or lock so one person needs to be holding onto it while another unloads because you are on a steep ramp in heavy fast moving traffic. As for cleanliness the only microwave in the building is in the lobby& it was filthy.Your blanket is old, thin & dirty, between 2 rough sheets. The bed felt like a rock slab with a pad."

The Saint Paul Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"I have stayed at the St. Paul Hotel on several occasions. It is a beautiful classic hotel in the heart of St. Paul. I would be happy to stay there any time."

Roami at The Fitz
10/10 Excellent
"Summary: Very cool hotel. Forward looking check-in process that probably that any gamer would get instantly (I’m old). Super courteous and efficient customer service – very tolerant of my comprehension viscosity. Excellent downtown location. Use the cheaper parking across the street. Obtaining the check-in code (and room code, same thing) was quite confusing. There was a requirement for proof of self (which is good in terms of security) and my photocopy of my driver’s license was insufficient, but a selfie did the trick. Parking was challenging (using the discount they offer with "Honk" but next time I'll use the cheaper lot just across the street. Honk was great with customer service, BTW. On to the room – very tidy and cool – additional bennies like a cook top and huge refrigerator (I guess they have long term residents). Once I memorized the code – in and out was easy. I’m a little over 6 feet and had to bend as if I was prepping for a prostate exam to see the input pad. Not a big deal, just thought I’d mention it."

Treasure Island Resort & Casino

"Went early week and some parts of the resort don't open until later in the week."

Grand Casino Hinckley

"Our hotel room was clean and the staff was friendly. Didn't use the pool but it and the hot tub both looked well kept."

La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham St. Paul-Woodbury
6/10 Okay
"Very clean and modern. Comfortable beds but small pillows. Noisy AC. Ask for lot facing room to avoid street noise because it was loud. Front desk clerk was a sweetheart. Breakfast staff seemed stressed but the breakfast options were great including waffles. The lobby was bright and spacious. The pools were cold! Hot tub was nice. Unfortunately there was a group of 7 adults who ruined the pool experience. Extremely loud, vaping, cannon balling, splashing one another to the point of which I had never seen, running, shoving, rolling on the floor and blocking all the steps to pool and hot tub. Our grandson was not safe in the shallow end of the regular pool due to the rough housing. One of the adult males of this group had a baby in a large floaty in the hot tub for a long time. The kiddie pool was perfect for our grandson but for the fact it was COLD. Zero monitoring of the aquatic area made for a shocking experience with no exaggeration. It was also Memorial Day weekend so perhaps short staffed and in fairness, I would not have wanted to try and approach or correct these individuals as I would not have felt safe. Otherwise a very nice stay for a great price."

"Check in went super smooth! The sign for where to turn in wasn’t super obvious but the rest of the process and stay were 10/10 would 100% come back and stay at this hotel, staff was always friendly and helpful!"
