Guy Harvey Resort on St Augustine Beach

"The room and bathroom seemed a little long in the tooth. Bathroom floor had dirt in the seams. The sink was dirty and needed a good scrubbing. Also the bathroom was pretty tight quarters. But the reason we were there: the pool and the ocean access were great. I loved the Guy Harvey art that was everywhere throughout the resort. The restaurant is pretty pricey and the dinner menu was somewhat limited. Staff were all very friendly and room requests (such as a broken Keurig or restocking of Kleenex) were tended to post haste. Other guests were also friendly and seemed very happy to be there."

"Best value possible for pleasant stay on Anastasia Island in St.Augustine, Florida. This is a no frills, motel style stay. There is no fancy lobby, room service, or complimentary breakfast. Also, there is no closet or rack for hanging clothes. However, the beds and sheets are clean and fresh. The air conditioning was excellent. The room and shower, very clean. The pool was clean and provided towels for us. The staff couldn’t be nicer. The price allowed us to spend our dollars on tours and fine dining. It’s all in what you’re prioritizing. I’d stay here again."

"Hotel is great for a couple days at the beach and you just want a place to lay your head. It is dated and could use some TLC. The furniture is stained, the doors stick, and it's not "cozy" but the owners are friendly and helpful. Staff could use some customer service training and reminders on situational empathy. I was down for a funeral and called to ask about a early check-in and was told I would have to wait in the parking lot if a room wasn't available. The initial response was off-putting, so upon arrival, which was after regular check-in, I was expecting less than perfect service. They did upgrade me to a suite, which was nice but the woman at the front desk was just repeating the same script to everyone. Not bad, but impersonal."
