"The most important thing to note is that there is NO elevator and the rooms are on the second floor, only accessible via a 26 step staircase. My spouse has had 11 ankle surgeries and I would never have booked this room had I known of all the steps.
The room was nice and clean. It has been a long time since I was given and actual key to my room :-). The room was quiet, despite being located directly above the casino floor.
I drive a large Pickup with an 8' bed, the underground lot with cameras was impossible for me to get into via a too tight turn from an alley.
The hotel location is about in the midpoint of Cripple Creeks main street, so everything was convenient.
Everyone on staff was friendly and accomodating.
Although when we tried to check-in, the casino cashier was on dinner break and the hotel check-in person was covering for her, so we were asked to wait 15 minutes and come back to check in.
The Hotel's price was very reasonable. Solely due to the 26 stairs to get to your room with baggage et al, I would probably not stay here again."
"Surf Hotel has grown into an amazing property over the years. Our beds were filled with comfy bedding and plenty of pillows. There was a great wrap around porch with rocking chairs. Amazing views of the river and the mountains.
The staff was so friendly! We ate at the restaurant a few times, everything was incredible, especially the s’mores cake.
The pool was nice and private. The water felt great. There were a few fireplaces for guest to enjoy. And the coffee offered in the morning lobby was delicious.
This place is an excellent get away! Great walking paths, and plenty of other outdoor activities to do. I can’t wait to go back! "
"Golden Nugget following the Golden Nugget Vegas philosophy. High Resort fees, no real amenities. Pool, gym and hot tub located at a different hotel the Nugget owns if you care to make the trip. 9:45pm Television went blank, Front Desk stated someone will come by tomorrow. Not too impressed. There is no room service, literally. Overall, if you just want a bed to sleep in, this is the place."
"All the staff were very nice and helpful. The hot tub and pool were amazing, I wish we could have spent more time in it. And the breakfast was a nice option to have."
