"Good: this place has everything to be 5 star experience. Breakfast is spectacular. Best pillows and sheets. Clean and up-to-date interior. Young staff that tries their best, but who seem to be mostly in training. Bad: promissed pool and outdoor balcony are closed for renovation. In spite of reservation saying “city view” they put us on the 2nd floor with zero view and construction going on. When requested to change they said maybe they can upgrade for 50 euro, but they don’t know what floor and when, so we ended up staying where we were. We arrived early jet legged and were promised a room by noon. Had to wait for 2 hours and had till 2.40pm instead. Stick to regular 3pm checking and don’t trust their promises."

"I am beyond disappointed with my recent stay at this hotel. What should have been a relaxing trip was ruined by the sheer lack of basic hospitality and professionalism. Upon arrival, I wasn’t even greeted. The front desk clerk acted as if my check-in was a massive inconvenience. We already checked in and waited for an 1 hour in the line, but our rooms is not yet ready so we decided to go out for couple of hours. When we came back to picked up the key to our room the front desk told us to go back to the line and wait all over again and again just to pickup the keys as I pointed out an issue with my room keys just to pickup, I was met with an eye-roll and a "there’s nothing we can do" attitude without them even checking the system. The situation only got worse when I asked to speak with a manager. I was told the manager was "busy" and the manager was so rude that he didn’t wan’t to talked to me or help me. I followed up again, and each time the front desk staff became more hostile. It was clear that the toxic attitude at the front desk starts at the top. If management can’t be bothered to address the guest concerns or even show their face when there’s a conflict. they shouldn’t be in the hospitality business. Avoid this place at all costs. There are plenty of other hotels in the area that actually value their guests. This was a total waste of money! The staff and the higher-ups should attend a mandatory guest management. "Front desk staff and bellhops were very helpful. This is our second time staying at this sofitel hotel. We stayed the night before our flight, hotel is directly across from airport and very easy to navigate hotel to airport. Staff from hotel loaded our luggage on a cart from our room (even though it was 3am) and pushed luggage cart to road, encouraged us to take cart into airport and leave it there after we checked in our luggage. We were impressed at this exceptional service-especially in the middle of the night! We will definitely stay here again when in Athens."

"Only the rooftop pool looks nice. The room is old. The mattress is very worn down, broken tiles, tiny shower with loose cover. The surrounding area is old, with broken buildings, unsafe to walk at night."
