"HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE !!! To begin with, the hotel was undergoing a major remodeling. No front lobby, we had to enter through the side door where plastic folding picnic table was being used as the reception desk. No kitchen was available so no hot breakfast. They had a paper bag with an apple, a smashed muffin, a granola bar and a plastic water bottle. We stayed four nights and on night 2, every time we left the room, our card keys would not work, so we had to get them re-programmed. Then on day 3 of our stay, the card key system was inoperable completely and we needed to wait for a staff member could let us into our room. We felt bad for the front desk clerk who would need to leave the front desk to let us in our room. On day 5 when we checked out, the card key and the system were still not working. And to make things worse, the elevators stopped working and we needed to climb four flights of stairs to get to our room. And so did the front desk clerk to let us into our room. I'm sure they had to do this for every single guest that needed to get into their room. Most disappointing was that there were no managerial employees available to answer questions or perhaps discuss some type of credit or compensation or refund for all of the inconveniences we experienced. I strongly believe that there should be some type of disclaimer warning that this hotel is under construction. Very sketchy way to conduct business. NOT UP TO LA QUINTA STANDARDS. "

"Fun hotel. Would suggest rooms with odd number (facing trees) and over 20 (120+, 220+..) to avoid noisy steeet."

"I had an extremely disappointing experience at Sonesta Simply Suites Austin South. I arrived around 11:30 PM for a two-night stay and quickly discovered the AC in my room was completely broken. The room was close to 85°F and absolutely unlivable, especially in Texas heat. I had an important interview the next morning and needed to be up at 6 AM, so this was beyond stressful. I called the front desk immediately to request another room. After waiting in the heat for the front desk to contact their supervisor, I was told around 12:30 AM that no other rooms were available. Their only “solution” was that I could check out in the middle of the night—in a city I didn’t know—and get a refund. That is not a reasonable or safe option at that hour. I had no choice but to stay and try to sleep in those conditions. The room was also dirty, with stained carpets and what appeared to be blood drips on the bathroom vanity cabinets. I checked out at 6:30 AM before my interview and booked another hotel for the next night. This was a complete failure in basic hospitality. I would not recommend staying here."
