DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel & Suites Pittsburgh Downtown
6/10 Okay
"Parking was terrible, the valet lost my car key. Bed were tiny I’m pregnant and me and my husband couldn’t fit in it. Fridge sitting on the floor very ghetto. Staff was not very friendly and $36 to park one night at a hotel you’re staying at is insane "
"Had a power outage for six hours at night so room got cold. Staff offered no compensation at all, not even a complimentary snack or discounted food or anything. Also had to evacuate because of a fire alarm the next day. Staff when we checked out were very dismissive when we brought to their attention when they asked how our stay was. Room and facilities were okay, they just can’t handle out of the ordinary things very well."
"In short, we will never be staying here again. The rooms were not clean as would be seen in a typical hotel, wires hanging out with small boxes likely control boxes for televisions, hanging out, half a foot under television screens, mildly seedy looking dated furniture, the worst of all, however, was strong marijuana odor and smoke coming through the vent for hours through the night. Complained about this to the front desk, requested that they put us in a different room away from the party scene, was informed that there were no rooms available, again. This was a lie as rooms were seen available on the Hotels.com app, the front desk person said she’ll send security to the neighboring room where people were partying and smoking pot, lied to me by telling me that she had sent security up there and that there was nobody partying in that room or smoking pot despite people coming out of that room reeking of marijuana smoke. The front desk person came and sprayed the room with some type of room freshener, which worked for about 10 minutes. Miserable night couldn’t sleep for most of the night because of the strong odors. Woke up with a dry throat and a cough in the morning, likely from the smoke coming in through the vent. if anybody is looking to stay at this place, I would strongly discourage them,I would recommend paying another $50-100 and find a different location in an actual hotel rather than this place.
Two stars only for location"
"We were happy to have a place to stay that was in a great location. But being forced to use and pay for valet is silly and inconvenient having to ask for keys to a car that is parked 20 feet away. It was cool being in my grandfather’s high school, but the interior room furniture is rusting. It’s a comfortable spot, great locale. "
"Beautiful hotel. Great amenities - various spots to grab a bite or a drink. Rooms were comfortable and spacious. Staff was very friendly. Will stay here again. "
