"Beautiful hotel with well appointed amenities, centrally located, good variety of foods at breakfast, excellent guest service in general.
I did take off one star because I encountered an upsetting situation at the swimming pool in which I was treated with a double standard. Here’s what happened: I liked to hydrate myself while swimming so I brought with me a can of carbonated mineral water from my room which was part of the hotel’s free minibar. I asked a pool attendant if I could keep it by the poolside so I could conveniently reach for it during my swim. He told me the hotel’s policy was such that the swimming pool was only for swimming and I needed to consume any food or drink at the areas on the right hand side of the pool where some tables and chairs were set up for an outdoor bar, which meant I would need to get out of the water, walk about 4-5 meters from there each time, to drink my water! I took his words for it. But a couple of laps into my swimming, I noticed a couple of westerners were drinking their cocktails in glass containers right in the pool areas. When I protested that pool attendant decision about my can of water, another pool attendant let me have my water at the pool & brought out an extra bottle of water for me to drink at the pool. Being a Vietnamese American, I felt like I was discriminated by my own people ! I did not appreciate the fact that some of Reverie’s staff seemed to served their westerners guests better than Asian looking ones !"
