Top Southern Highlands Hotel Reviews

Peppers Manor House
6/10 Okay
"Really lovely grounds with communal areas to sit around fire places. Sadly I had a very noisy room what sounded like it was above the back of house staff area so my first night had alot of noise travel into the room but it was quiet the second night. Very cold area and I stayed on a freezing night but thankful for the radiator heaters aswell as wall mounted heaters (only worked after filters cleaned)"

Argyle Hotel Southern Highlands
6/10 Okay
"The Argyle is ideally situated. Close to Everything in town. Easy off Street parking. Great food and friendly helpful staff. Rooms are small, but we did have a good sized ensuite. Could do with more hooks to hang things like clothes and towels on. Room warm, bed very comfortable and no road noise, but walls are thin and everything can be heard including people in the corridor and in adjacent rooms. Didn’t bother us, but worth knowing. Absolutely suited us for an overnight stay."

Sage Hotel Wollongong
10/10 Excellent
"Stayed for 2 nights. Friendly, quick and easy check in. Hotel is in a great location - easy walking distance to the beach and also into the city center. Room was a good size, well appointed and clean. Would definitely stay again."

Lakeside Inn Illawarra
10/10 Excellent
"Room was clean and what we wanted. It had plenty of room kitchen facilities and bathroom amenities. Aircon that worked well. The staff were helpful and polite."

Novotel Wollongong Northbeach
2/10 Terrible
"Old, dirty and unkept rooms. The rooms are shockingly dated. Our door was actively splintering at the bottom, and everything came with a layer of dust. The TV can't connect to the internet, and in the year 2026, they actually have the audacity to charge guests for Wi-Fi! We were told the gym was closed at 8pm, but the welcome pack said the “Beachside Fitness” is open til 10pm. Disabling the keycard reader two hours before closing and making guests beg for entry is peak lazy management. Don't bother packing your swimmers unless you enjoy bathing in a biohazard. The pool is unheated and the bottom was completely covered in bird feces. Please avoid, especially if you have small children wanting to swim. The gym is somehow worse. It's basically a sweltering sauna equipped with a violently shaking, broken pedestal fan that only blows air out the sides. The equipment is a lawsuit waiting to happen, featuring an old barbell with no locks for the weights! The absolute peak of our stay was calling in room dinning to ask if they could warm some milk for my 2 year old. We were explicitly told it would "take too long" because they had a massive queue for a wedding. It takes exactly sixty seconds to microwave milk. It is great to know that once the hotel gets their big wedding payout, actual paying guests and their children become a complete inconvenience. If you're not part of a wedding party, don't expect basic hygiene, safe amenities, or a single minute of staff effort. Avoid!"

The Dormie House - On The Golf Course

"Stayed for one night. I was kindly upgraded by the polite helpful front desk staff. He even went ahead and turned the heater on so the room would be warm after I had my dinner. The room was clean and comfortable. Everything I needed was included. Very quiet Comfortable bed . Will be back"
