Southeast Alabama hotel rooms a the Independent

"Not very clean. The room smelled like marijuana when we walked in. No hot water for shower - lukewarm at best. Pool was covered 9/13/25- temps in the high 90s. People In the room next to us smoked outside - basically in front of our door and you could smell it in our room. "

"If you have a chance to stay here at least once, do it! Nostalgic memories and quirky interior design. Right across the street from campus and an easy walk to anywhere. Great bar and restaurant on the roof. An Auburn must."

"Love the graduate!! The only thing is the there are no drawers that open on the furniture in the room. Huge mistake- they need drawers that open on dressers for storage of items. It was very difficult to find places for underwear, belts, etc. I did hang all clothes up. Without the storage, it would be very difficult to stay more than a few days."
