"I recently stayed at The Berkley Hotel, and my experience was nothing short of awful. We checked in online and were instructed to pick up our room keys at the front desk. Upon arrival, we were met with a very long line and only two agents. Check-in took an astonishing amount of time. I found myself waiting in that ridiculously long line not just once, but five different times, which was incredibly frustrating, especially after a long drive.
Initially, I was assigned a room that was already occupied! After waiting in line again to address this issue, I was given another room, only to find it at a scorching 83°F with a broken air conditioning unit. So I went back down and waited in line again to report the AC problem we were told maintenance would be right up. I waited an hour for them, but they never showed up, so once again, I headed back down, and waited in line. Somehow this time, I was reassigned to the first room, which, to my dismay, was still occupied. Finally, after all the hassles of dragging our luggage up and down and waiting in line a fifth time, I was given a fourth room, which thankfully was unoccupied and was a reasonable temperature. In the end, it took us over 2 hours to check in. Absolutely unacceptable.
Overall, my stay was marred by poor organization and lack of attention to detail. I expected much better service for the price I paid. I cannot recommend The Berkley Hotel based on this experience.
