South Landing Hotels near Mammoth Lakes

"Perfect location and super convenient access to Canyon gondola as well as the shops/restaurants to the Village. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. They also accommodated a late check out request. The hotel self parking was also a nice convenience. My room was excellent with a nice view and very clean. The mini fridge and stove and microwave made early morning breakfasts super easy. They also had good coffee in the lobby. Overall a very satisfying stay and I would rebook for another Mammoth Mountain ski trip!"

"I never gor to have breakfast there. Because the dining area was down stairs! They are not equiped for disabled travelers. No elevator, and the disabled parking was not cleared of snow! The beds were not made during the 4 days I stayed."

"Hotel is currently under renovation. Messy in places (outside primarily). Breakfast is ok - I've been in other hotels with better fare."

"The Village at Mammoth is right across the street and has a variety of shops and the Village Gondola to access Canyon Lodge lifts and trails on Mammoth. Picking up lift tickets and rentals is super easy. If you rent a demo package, stay on that floor and walk to the gondola to go skiing (no stairs required). The restaurants in the area are good; didn't do any shopping. The Village is also a nice place to walk around in the evening. They have (two?) fire pits that you can sit around and enjoy the day or evening with your friends. There are several bars and restaurants outside of the main Village area, but right next to Alpenhof, INCLUDING the bar & grill at the hotel. Been there before and will likely go back. The hotel parking is free and you don't have to mess with the traffic at the other lodges!!!"

"Staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and well-appointed including a gas heating stove.l The property has a lot of deferred maintenance and shows a lot of wear and tear, and finish work is amateurish. For example, the tub filler neck has @ an inch gap from the tile. The dispensers in the shower offered body wash, shampook and conditioner, but would dispense little. There is a bare 2X4 suspended from a ledge from which a light hangs. The hot tub was "out of order" and did not look clean. The roof is well-aged wood shakes. "

"Loved our room with the fireplace and bathroom was great as well. So cozy and relaxing. Loved the kitchen amenities too! Everything was so clean!"

"During our stay I got worst experience every. Manager DID TERMINATE chemical SPRAY IN ROOMS !!! All this smells goes inside of your super small and tiny room ! Worst experience ever. The manager allowed Terminix to spray chemicals in the rooms while guests were still staying in the hotel. The strong chemical smell spread through the AC into our room and lasted a long time. I am allergic and came to enjoy fresh mountain air, but instead got headaches from the fumes. The Terminix worker was wearing a gas mask and full protective suit, while guests were expected to breathe the smell. Very irresponsible management. Not worth $200 per night. I would not recommend staying here."
