Pillbox on Benfleet Creek. This pillbox on Benfleet Creek has seen better days it’s concrete skin has fallen away revealing that this block house is of brick construction which would not afford much protection against a tank round. In the background you can just see the A130 to Canvey Island

These two roads are unmade at the centre of the image (though they are mad at the bottom). Underhill Road runs parallel to the bottom at the right. Thundersley proper occupies much of the upper right.
