Beautiful older home in a historic monied-area just a few blocks west of downtown S Bend. Spacious grounds and walkable neighborhood not far from Studebaker and local history museums. The Colfax room we stayed in was clean and comfortable in all respects. Though the room is a bit on the smaller side, there is ample access to common areas in the home, including a pantry area with complimentary beverages and snacks. The dining area is spacious and the breakfast prepared perfectly. The owners (Tom & Alice) were away on a trip when we were there, but want to give a special shout-out to the back-up host (believe her name is Mindy) who made us feel welcome and provided top-notch service. This was our first visit to the Oliver House, but have stayed at about a dozen historic B&B's in other states, and would rank this property in the Top 2 of those experiences. We would stay here again if in the area.

Excellent, personal service, top notch hospitality, beautiful historic home, extremely clean, well kept, comfortable, homey. Rooms are uniquely decorated for the period, such a fresh exciting upscale from cookie cutter hotels. Beds are very comfortable (I've stayed in every room here) plenty of hot water, high end toiletries, superb homemade gourmet breakfast, served at formal dining table with matching China, light candles and fireplace and pisno music. Two large beautifully decorated sitting rooms for you to sit in, relax, talk, read, watch tv, play chess or board games. Step back in time, to a simpler time, treat and pamper yourself and discover what makes all well, with your soul. You will be returning often, as we do!

Apparently your service does not have good communication. We had to cancel our stay due to unexpected last minute family situation. One of your representatives tried to get us a refund or voucher, but the vendor was adamant about penalizing us. Very strict policy about cancellation that is neither family oriented or Christian. I would not recommend this Oliver Inn to anyone who is not 100% certain that nothing will happen to prevent them from canceling.
