You can delight in exploring stunning natural areas and have exciting experiences during your visit to Slangerup.

In 1634, the popular Danish priest and hymn writer Thomas Kingo was born in Slangerup. At the time it was an idyllic village at a convenient distance from Copenhagen. Today, Slangerup is a small provincial town with easy access to Frederikssund by both car and train.

When you visit Slangerup, you will be in one of the most scenic areas in Denmark: North Zealand. Take a walk through Lystrup Forest between Slangerup and Lystrup to discover beautiful areas, including a small nature playground where the children will love to play. Bring your picnic basket and eat lunch while the children climb and play in the countryside. In winter, there is a natural toboggan run, which is a popular spot as soon as the first snow falls.

More beautiful scenery can be found at Buresø, situated between Lynge, Slangerup and Slagslunde in one of the valleys that belong to Farum Nature Park. The park covers approximately 4,500 acres and boasts geological features such as kettle holes, valleys and ridges formed during the last ice age around 13,000 years ago. Enjoy hiking in beautiful surroundings or cool off in the clear water of the lake, weather permitting. If you need more speed, visit Slangerup Speedway Club to watch one of the many races.

On your holiday to Slangerup, make sure not to miss Slangerup Church, also known as St. Michael's Church, close to the town centre. Here you can admire the altarpiece, made by Statius Otto, a German carver from Lüneburg, who also provided woodcarvings for Frederiksborg Castle and Rosenborg.

Slangerup is easily accessible from the UK – once you land at Copenhagen Airport, Kastrup, it takes less than an hour to drive there, or around an hour and a half on the train. Slangerup has many beautiful and charming accommodation options to suit all tastes and budgets.

With scenic North Zealand as a backdrop you will not be bored during your visit to Slangerup. There are fun and exciting activities for all ages all year round.

The laundry room was so convenient with multiple washing machines and dryers, and complimentary wash pods. The room was spacious and clean. Kitchen was kitted with a hob, fridge and freezer, sink, kettle, and toaster. Would’ve been nice to have a microwave, but we were fine without one.

The building for this hotel looks a bit dull from outside - but on the inside, it's amazing - a real oasis in the heart of the city.
