Skjálfandi Bay

We never got very close, but with a good lens or binoculars you were able to see them very well. We only saw one whale, but it is the largest animal on Earth. The blue wale.
The burst of water and air from the blue wale's blowhole can shoot up over 30 feet. That is how you spot them at distance.
This old fishing village is still using some sailing vessels. this one was just being unloaded when I walked over. The men unloading had caught cod. I didn't see nets so I don't know how they had caught so many.
Other then going around, the sun is starting to not set. Here at the top end of Iceland and near Summer Solstice the sun only sets for about 1 hour a day, and even then it just barely touches the horizon.
I think I like Iceland.
