"What a great hotel and such pleasant staff. Our room was on the third floor down with an entrance to the garden.
The location was great for strolling around the old town and easy to get an uber to the Pena Palace.
The hotel does not have parking but there are parking spots just outside the hotel
Also there are no elevators but the staff helped out by bringing our bags down 3 floors to our room.
This hotel is on my list for a return visit."
"Okay, the hotel concept and location is to die for. The beach itself is otherworldly- I’ve been to a ton of beach towns and it was stunning scenery. Book the beach view room. You won’t regret it. However. The pool was closed, we suffered a sand dune storm our second night having left the property we were completely unable to return to it until a bulldozer came and cleared the roads. All in the name of adventure. The storm is no fault of the hotel I’m just mentioning it because location was very natural and subject to the environment around the property. The housekeepers and bar staff were competent and kind. The front desk staff… a mess. They didn’t have our reservation when we arrived and it was pretty chaotic considering I was getting married during our stay. However it all worked out and let us use the event room late at night on a whim. Property does have some black mold. The breakfast was delicious. The other staff have poor communication and zero urgency. Overall, I’d give it a 6/10."
"I love this place - it has character, a great location, and feels like a little piece of old school glamour, albeit rough round the edges in places. This was a repeat visit after six years away. The breakfast was lovely, the property is really special. We stayed in a room away from the main house and had our own little outdoor area - slightly tired, but then the character of the place makes up for this, it feels so much more charming than soulless chain hotels."
"What a wonderful stay. From start to finish we were so well looked after. The service was excellent along with the breakfasts and entertainment. Freddie the peacock was sensational showing off each day displaying his feathers. Our room was beautiful with everything we needed and more. Sintra Marmoris Palace has high standards and we highly recommend a stay. Special thanks to all staff but especially João who gave us so many ideas for our stay. We look forward to visiting again soon. Peter and Jayne x"
