"I am an avid traveler, especially to the Caribbean and I was quite disappointed with my stay at The Rif in Curacao. Firstly, they never responded to any of my messages on the app leading up to my stay to confirm a crib for my son and balloon decor for the room. All of wish I had to take care of once I landed. Then, once we arrived and checked in, I had to call front desk multiple times for the crib. We waited in the room for 2 hours just to ensure arrival. Next, the hospitality from the staff was poor. When walking in the halls, housekeeping does not acknowledge you or say, "Good Morning". We would always say it first and sometimes not get a response back. I can't say all but quite a few were like this. The buffet is just average and the options are limited. The specialty restaurants are limited with small portion sizes. The waitstaff at the restaurants were the same, some will greet you and others would not. During our 5 days there, we had someone come around twice to offer coffee and tea during breakfast. Also, it is very much a self-service place. While at the beach or pool, you have to get your own drinks at the bar. The lady at the towel stand gave me an attitude when I asked for 3 towels for my family of 3 and told me should only give me two, when I had to state again that I have 2 other family members that need this. Nathanial, the attendant that helped with our luggage on arrival was very nice and courteous. I will never return to the Rif. "

"Check in was poor as there was no one there to check-in with and we had to wait for some time, then we were unable to go to the room as there had been a power outtage and the room would be ready in about 30 minutes and they'd message us. Over an hour later, with cold food needing refrigeration, still no message, and no idea where the room was as we were waved in a general direction and told a parking spot number that had been taken already. The room itself was lovely overall, but it was unbearably hot and no internet available. After 3 hours of reaching out with whatsapp and the property app, we still had no response. Other guests had gathered at the check in with similar issues and no communication, noting this was a common issue prior to the power outtage so in giving benefit of the doubt with major power concerns, it seemed this was poorly organized, including front gate security as there were no directions provided as it had said in the guest app. Beyond these major issues, smaller details would benefit from correction, with highlights on installing a shelf anywhere in or near the shower to be able to access shower essentials as these had to be placed on the floor and there were no replacement trash bags or instructions for the washer and dryer."

"Friendly staff, nearby everything, great bar and casino. The only down side was that there was no hot water for the whole stay due to plumbing issues so it was not pleasant to shower but they were aware of and reportedly actively working on it and something outside of their control. "

"We were glad we took the time to read reviews before booking our trip - we had a fabulous stay. The apartment was exactly as described, spacious, clean and comfortable, and located within a pleasant gated community midway between Willemstad and the island's far west beaches. The Blue Bay beach is a short walk away and one of the best we visited - especially for access into the ocean, with very few rocks, though it can get busy at times. Beach towels are provided for your stay. We would suggest hiring a car to explore the rest of the island. Ravi was a fabulous host - welcoming and responsive to our needs, and the staff were busy throughout the day, maintaining the pool and exterior of the property. Only positive things to say - hoping to return later this year! "
