"We didn’t expect a lot, but it was ruined by the unprofessional actions of the front desk. We went to a concert, and arrived back to the room at 1AM exhausted. At 1:30AM after falling asleep, the front desk called us regarding a mess-up on THEIR part! Never in our lives has a hotel woken us up, let alone because of their own mistake. We spoke to the front desk prior to leaving the following morning, and all that we got was “sorry, we figured it out on our end.”"

"Overall, I had a good stay at Holiday Inn Express Starke by IHG. My room was clean and for the most part the bed was comfortable, which is always important after a long day. The only issue I had was that there was no TV remote in my room when I arrived. I didn’t need it the first night, but when I mentioned it to the front desk the second night, they were quick to bring one up, which I appreciated. I didn’t try the breakfast during my stay, so I can’t really speak on that, but overall the staff was friendly and helpful and I would stay here again."

"Breakfast was good. Staff are very quick to clear away for 9am cut off. If you turn up at 8:55a.m. items are already being cleared. Be aware. Stayed 2 nights, no room cleaning after 1st night. Not sure if intentional or a mistake. Parking was easy given UF term was over. Would imagine it could be more difficult when school is in session. Pool and gym looked nice but didnt get to use."

"Never Stayed...FILTHY We arrived Friday excited for a great weekend getaway, but unfortunately our experience started off terribly. When we arrived to check in, our room was not ready. We were told it would be prepared while we were out, and since our key wasn’t working, staff told us they would let us into the room when we returned. When we first saw the room, it was absolutely disgusting. It honestly looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months. I didn’t even want to put our belongings down. Apparently, it was one guy there with his two kids, and he claimed the staff had quit. Honestly, I don’t even think there was any staff at all. Later that night, we went back to the office so they could open the room for us… only to find someone else already sleeping in it. 😳 The staff then attempted to offer us another room, but that room wasn’t ready either. We were told, “Let me change the sheets,” but the condition of that room was just as bad. At that point, we were beyond frustrated. By the end of the night, we were exhausted, upset, and completely over the situation. We ended up driving all the way home and didn’t make it back until 4:45 in the morning. Now I’m trying to get a refund since we never even stayed there. The guy told us he would refund us, but now nobody answers the phone. The number keeps giving a busy signal, the number on the receipt is no longer in service, and even Expedia hasn’t been able to get ahold of them. "

"The hotel is located at a perfect location for the stadium. The staff was really amazing. The rooms were very clean and have been updated. If you go to the hotel, you MUST go to pizza restaurant in the hotel, it is CRAZY good!!"
