"Very family friendly for young families, can be very busy around the pool, staff friendly sometime the service is a little slow, Breakfast the food could be a bit warmer but good variety. The hotel is very clean and well maintained our room was excellent"

"Room was large and clean. AC was cool and quiet. Front desk staff was very helpful and pleasant. Gym was however a little dated and free weights were all too heavy (10kg+). Not enough of 5-10kg weight sets. The bathtub was without an anti slip mat, potential safety issue for older guests. Shampoo and shower gel came in small 3 ml tubes, hardly enough for two guests in a single shower. With the outside humidity and high tropical temperatures, I needed 2 or more showers daily. Overall a pleasant stay, albeit a much better experience if those issues are handled."

"This iconic hotel is well located and within walking distance to restaurants and tourist spots and where we stayed at the Victory Annex - fantastic sea views from the suites. Of course the super hot weather would probably deter most people from walking any where and a grab ride costs just a few bucks in your choice of car. The suites are big, ours faced the sea and we had a balcony which made for catching the first light a pleasure when we woke up each morning. The ceilings of the rooms were spectacularly high and the bathroom was almost too big. Really liked the "his and hers" sinks separated by a walk way (so i could clutter mine and hubby could keep his minimalist :D). The breakfast at Sarkies - lots of variety, our favourites were the individually fried plates of char kway teow and the roti canai with your choice of fillings. I would stay again just for the breakfast. Then why 4 stars - for some reason, we could get the AC the temperature we wanted - it was either too cold or not cold enough. Prob our user error. The bath - when we ran the water, it wasn't clear...? The shower was great though. Would i stay again - maybe - we might try the heritage wing to compare. But definitely give it a go - the hotel runs really good deals and includes breakfast and that already makes all the difference."

"Hotel staff was magnificent and room was perfect only things is not enough choices when it comes to breakfast and the jacuzzi was a nightmare no button to press on and discover that there one in side and no one was there to help"
