"Well, I was surprised when I arrived on the bus in Shangri-La administrative town that the hotel was back the other way toward Lijiang and that it was not near any Tibetan monasteries. "The most beautiful place we have ever been: a well designed Tibetan style cottages overlooking the vast river valley grasslands with surrounding snowy mountains in the distance. The sound of the cowbell and wind blowing over the trees is most soothing.
