The Bath Hotel Lynmouth

8/10 Good

"The property seems to be family owned and seemed to be run a bit slap dash. The pictures online have had some photo shopping and first impressions were a bit of a letdown. Staff were thin on the ground and some were inexperienced in hospitality. The room was clean and tidy, although we did look in a suite which looked really nice so I would suggest you book one of these if you go. Excellent breakfast and food at the bar at night was excellent. Big up to the chef. The hotel is well located to travel out to different areas of Exmoor and beyond. 8 / 10 if I was being honest."

"We had tickets to see Super Furry Animals in Cardiff and decided staying outside of the city was better value - a lovely room, free parking and a delicious breakfast. It was only a 15 minute drive into Cardiff. Our only issue was that we were awoken at 6am on Sunday morning by the people staying next door - I think they must have had an early flight and were heading to the airport - I can't think why else you would be awake so early on a Sunday!"

The Mount Rooms

"Totally disappointed with how dated the room was. Definitely charging more than they should. The top bunk bed in the family room isn’t safe as the mattress is too tall and there’s risk of kids falling out. There were slugs in the bathroom which my husband had to pick out and the walls and floor were so grubby. We found a toenail on the floor too. The pillows and the bed are very uncomfortable and we didn’t get a good nights sleep the entire three nights we were there. We wish we’d stayed in the premier inn. Paid almost £300 for 3 nights and I have no idea what we paid for as no one came to turn down our bedroom, and we had to seek out hand soap as none was left in the bathroom for us to use. The staff were very lovely and helpful. Won’t be back."

"The George was a great place to stay, dog friendly and all the staff were great and very welcoming and helpful. Although they don’t serve food in the evening, they were very accommodating, being very happy for us to bring a takeaway back to the dinning room to eat there. The breakfast was also excellent as were the staff waiting on!!. Thanks for a great stay!"

Rising Sun Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"A modern bathroom in a 14th century hotel was definitely not expected. WiFi worked in the room. The staff were friendly and efficient. Breakfast provided a good selection and the cooked items were really good. Sunday lunch was close to home made with plenty of different vegetables. Will definitely return!"
