"I was only in the room from 1 am to 11 am. Expedia says that this hotel has 24/7 shuttle from airport to hotel and the reverse. That is not what the hotel is doing. You get a cab outside baggage, then taxi takes you to hotel, walks in and the hotel pays them for the ride. Before the cabbie told me that, he said he was not allowed to take me there and was quoting me for $40 ride of one mile. I told him I wasn’t going to pay any more than $10 for a one-mile trip. Expedia should talk to the hotel and update how and who pays, do you have to call the hotel before you get into the cab to authorize the ride? I didn’t need this kind of crap at midnight when my second flight landed at Portland.
Hilton Garden Inns were nice properties wherever you booked a room. This hotel was fine but it looks “tired”, doesn’t look like they’ve spent any money on the hotel for some time now.
It was nice that the reception desk had some frozen personal pizzas and something, that you could use in room with your microwave, but no paper plate offered, paper napkins and plastic knife and fork.
I didn’t take breakfast, I was getting picked up, needed sleep more than breakfast. Wanted to get cup of coffee on the way out but coffee not available by 11 am. I came down at 11:05, no coffee.
Room was clean, bed was fine. There are other amenities, like a pool, but didn’t have time to use it.
Door handles work one of two ways, my first key didn’t work. Matthew, desk manager, apologized for not telling"
