Open air onsen was very nice Only issue was, there was no toilet inside the room which things a bit interesting at night when the human nature was calling. "Our tatami room was incredibly dirty, dusty and bathroom wS leaking n smelly. Bathroom near dining room, water leaked around the toulet when flushed. Sests stuck to dining room floors because floors were vrimy n sticky. When i showed the staff at the front desk, pictures of the grimy tib, they only apologizedand said the hotel is old. We have stayed in 400 yo lodgings in narita, rome and venice that were clean! I wish i could show u puctures that i took! "

"Excellent traditional experience, onsen is great and the traditional food sets (both breakfast and dinner) are very nice. Only problems I had overall were maintaince going on during my stay (landscaping and some light building work), and some parts of the building are showing their age (especially in the onsen and lobby areas). Bonus note, some of the hole in the wall restaurants nearby are excellent and the rual area nearby is great for a break from the big cities (it has that fresh air countryside feel)."
