"This is a beautiful little spot about a 20-minute walk from downtown Paramaribo. I also stayed downtown, and can surely say I much prefer being away from the noise and crowds of the city center. Villa Famiri is in a quiet, safe neighborhood within walking distance to restaurants and shopping. You can also walk to downtown though it's not a nice walk (no sidewalks, lots of trash and standing water, lots of traffic). They have a lovely common area and pool so it's great for relaxing. The real gem of this place though is the staff! Everyone was so welcoming and helpful, especially Lucy, Kenzo, and Delia! They really treat every guest like royalty. One day our hot water went out (fairly common in Suriname, I think) and they let me shower in one of the rooms in the adjacent building. They also helped with ordering taxis and getting me things like a hairdryer and hot water kettle. I really can't thank the staff enough! "

"This was a lovely stay. Many larger hotels were sold out and I was travelling for business so I went here. It was an excellent choice! It’s a well run business with great service, nice snacks for order, an excellent breakfast, and a convenient location. I will stay again!"
