"We were unable to access the accommodation: upon arrival, we found ourselves in front of code boxes, no response to calls to the owner between 4 PM and 5 PM, no calls from him despite the message left on voicemail in English, no email indicating the codes. In short, unable to leave 2 children in the blazing sun, we were forced to book another hotel and lose the money for this rental. The fault does not rest entirely with the owner; Epedia also shares some responsibility, as the emails received...

"Apartment is big with a sizeable living and fully equipped kitchen complete with cutleries, knives , wine opener, a few saucepans , frying pans oven , microwave , fridgr and dishwasher . The bathroom is big, clean and looks newly renovated There is a bus stop 3 mins walk away which goes to the Lucerne central bus station which is very convenient. "

"The place was right next to train railroad. And the place is okay just that I could not stay here because the bathroom was not so clean. The shower did not work. There are no close grocery mart that you can walk. The furnitures were overall old and the spider webs are mostly there in every corner of rooms, outside. The place is ok compared to price I guess but I just couldn't stay one day even though I booked for 8 days. "

"The Gubelhof Suites were perfect for our visit. We stayed in the large 1 bedroom and were provided with an extra bed in the living room as we were a group of three. Everything was top notch and the experience was fantastic. I highly recommend the property and would stay again in a heartbeat."

"Located in Horw but well connected with trains to downtown Lucerne. Check in was cumbersome as it was all ‘personless’. I did not see a hotel employee in the 3 days we stayed and that felt impersonal and vague. One must have a good data plan and lots of phone battery life at all times otherwise you cannot enter the building. There is no one you can call if you are stranded out. "Check-in was very quick and easy. The receptionist greeted us with a smile and even apologised that it was raining in Lucerne. Good size room comfortable bed. Remember that Swiss plugs are different to a lot of EU countries. Thankfully we managed to pick one at London airport. Location was excellent right next to the train station. It’s a 5 minute walk to the Chapel bridge. It’s my birthday today and when I went to check out the gentleman at reception gave me a birthday card and a chocolate which was such a nice gesture. I recommend this hotel and will most definitely stay there again."
