Hotel is not located in tourist hot spot and is better accessed by car. Maybe that's why one can get a very spacious room at a reasonable price. Also the hot spring spa has multiple pools. Highly recommended!
Large rooms, nice hot springs. Also operates as a day spa. Large relaxation area with a mini-arcade, although the game machines were turned off when we were there (might have just been too late at night). There is a small park and playground behind the property. There is an interesting "shampoo bar" system, where you ask the onsen desk and they will lend your choice of specialty shampoo/conditioner.
Breakfast was good, but be aware, it is definitely Japanese style (think white rice, grilled fish, miso soup, salad), so if that doesn't sound like your cup of tea, you might want to breakfast somewhere else (tip: if you book a room option that includes breakfast, it seems to be discounted compared to paying for it at the property). There are other restaurants and at least one grocery store in the area, but you'll probably want/need a car to get around.
Like most places in Japan, expect clean rooms and good customer service.
Restaurant tip: there are 2 tofu shops on the same road as this hotel (road 267). One is about 10 minutes by car to the east, and the other 5 minutes to the west. Both have dine-in and takeout options, as well as lighter snacks and drinks. While I know that tofu is usually not high on most tourists' list of "want to eat" in Japan, both of these offer Kyushu specialties that will probably defy your expectations of tofu (Tofu donuts? Tofu ice cream? Tofu chai? Tofu sake?) and are highly-rated in the map application that you are (probably) using. Recommended.
