"Location is beautiful, pools and saunas ok ( hot sauna was not working well and nobody cared to fix). One really bad detail, the guy at the reception looks and treat tourists as if we were garbage."

From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel like guests in someone's home rather than a hotel — warm, genuinely attentive, and full of insider tips on the best spots in the Sassi to catch sunset, where to eat, and how to navigate Matera's winding stone streets. The rooms themselves are beautiful, carved into the historic Sassi with all the atmosphere you'd hope for. Clean, functional, spacious, comfortable. If you're visiting Matera, stay here."
