"There's so much good to say about the Embassy Suites, with a couple of big negatives. First of all, it is conveniently located. We were able to walk downtown in Sarasota, which is a nice area with so many restaurants. There was one restaurant outdoors that had live music that we could hear for blocks. We were also very close to St. Armand's Circle and Lido Beach. The room itself was ideal. We had a separate bedroom with a living room and kitchen area (microwave, mini fridge, sink, and table). There was so much room for all of our things that it didn't feel cluttered. Housekeeping was completely on top of cleaning things and came daily. The view we had was amazing! Breakfast could be rather busy with a huge line and not much room, but the omelettes were worth it! We highly recommend them, and those serving them are masters at speed and accuracy. The major downside of this hotel is the extra fees. First of all, it's $40 a day to park, which adds up quickly. Second, they charge a $28 a day destination fee, which can be used for some things in the hotel like the restaurant or bikes, but it's rather ridiculous. Whatever you don't use, you lose. We were so busy going to the beach and trying local restaurants that we only used it once and that was to get smoothies after our workout. We only happened to notice a small sign about the smoothies in the workout room. If we had noticed it sooner, we would have purchased them every day to make use of the money being taken from us daily."
