Our experience at Erice Fira was absolutely horrible and short. Short, because we ended up finding new accommodations close by at FiraXenia hotel. The hotel was unmarked and we had to get directions from someone to find it. There was mold on the mattress and sheets, the room smelled musty and damp, the bathroom had evidence of mold that was covered up, and the fridge had leftovers and was off so the smell was horrendous. The grounds smelled of pee and had cat poop littered everywhere. WiFi was available but only worked when I was standing in the doorway. Trying to get in contact with reception was horrible and took a separate WhatsApp conversation to get in touch. Even then, they were short, snarky and kept putting us on hold. Their only solution to the mold was to move us to another room, but that room already had someone else there. Horrible experience and so glad we didn’t stay there.

This stay was maybe only tolerable for one night. Firstly, the hotel lot was dirty (empty can, trash on the floor, empty tuna cans, etc). Our room smelt of mold and had visible mold in the shower that was spackled over. There was no hot water. The room was constantly very humid due to the lack of ventilation. The bedding was visibly dirty on all beds. The towels were smelly. My group found 4 large roaches scurrying around coming from holes in the bathroom. The room did not come with any extremities such as a large trash can, blow dryer, sink, microwave. Overall you could find something better for a similar price.
