"Everything was perfection from the time we arrived until our departure. I will absolutely book this stay again. The staff felt like family and were so kind and hospitable. We traveled to La Fortuna, San Jose, Papagayo and Santa Teresa and Santa Teresa/ the Bohemia Experience was the best hands down. "

"Great location! The staff were friendly, the property is cute. Upkeep though probably could use a boost, the rooms needed some maintenance. I would stay again "

"My family of 4 absolutely loved this property. One of the most unique places we have stayed. The craftsmanship of the boutique bungalows is excellent. High ceilings and very well appointed "A-Frame" individual rooms. The owner and staff are very friendly. After 3 days we felt like family. We loved the morning breakfast. Tina the Chef helped prepare fresh fruit, french toast, scrambled eggs every morning. She even made Pico De Gallo for me at my request! "Willie" the concierge/host was the best. He had great advice for all our trips, and helped book a couple of restaurants for us, and a zip-line trip. The owner "Shaq" is very friendly and also advises on trips and things to see. It was fun to learn the history of the property from him and history of the Santa Teresa. I've been vacationing regularly in Costa Rica since 1998 just to give perspective. We hope to be back. "
"Exceeded my expectations.
Room massive, two seperate bedrooms, lots of storage and an amazing front deck. Room was a bit worn, but was cozy, clean and unpretentious.I loved staying here and coming back here to relax. Many thoughtful details were added like the water in the fridge, the ability to bring food/plates/cups back from the restaurant to eat, and taps outside the deck to rinse sand off. The airconditioning was a life saver.
We were on the beach-not much of a view but easy access. We could hear the waves.
There were howler monkeys in the trees over our bungalow.
Parking was right near us in a gated section-Felt safe.
Morning breakfast was yummy and good value considering it was included in our stay. There were two options of eggs, toast and fruit or a Costa Rica Traditional Breakfast. Coffee and Orange juice was included but you had to ask to get both. It was served right on the beach which was magical.
We ate at the onsite restaurant many times. Most times it was a hit- the fish was fresh and very well prepared, the portion sizes huge.
The pool was a nice size and enjoyable.
Sadly didn't get a chance to get to the yoga class as hoped, but did book in for a massage- one of the best I've had.
Easy waking to the main strip for restaurants and shops. Security walk around at night, discreetly. Felt safe.
HAPPILY will return.
Cons: Shower head would clog with sand (We just took it off. Good pressure and heat, no issues). Pebbled trails on property-not easy on bare feet!"
"The service at Fuego Lodge is second to none. The pool area is beautiful We watched a highway train of monkeys cross the roofs one evening. Download WhatsApp if you haven't already. You may need it. Will definitely consider staying there again!"
"Loved everything about our stay. They took boutique style hotel to the next level. Communication with the staff was superb. Shami and Cynthia were so accomodating. Highly recommend. "
"This place was great. Location is accessible to everything but with a sense of privacy due to the individual suites. The staff was amazing across the board. Overall, I travel around 100 nights per year globally and this was one of the best stays I have had at a property in a long time."
"Lovely! A quiet jewel just 10 minutes outside the Santa Teresa's main district. Great adults-only resort, terrific restaurant, lovely beach, great rooms, wonderful massage. The resort, rooms, beach club, beach, staff and experience are all top notch.
Can't overstate how excellent the restaurant is, whether breakfast lunch or dinner. The pool may be the only slight knock - it's lovely and unique, but small and accessible to only a few villas. But we didn't actually care. The beach club, beach, Santa Teresa, and neighboring Montezuma were all charming enough to make this a great experience.
You'll want / need a car if you stay here. Relying on open ATV would be bad - you'd be covered in dust from the 10-15 minutes of dirt road between Blue Mist and Santa Teresa. We rented a 4wd Bronco from Liberia, which made the 4 hour drive in regular mode and last 15 minutes of gravel rough road in 4wd no problem.
Nearby: Nami (best sushi in town / 5 min from Blue Mist), Katana (best restaurant in town), Pronto (best italian in town), Umi (best night beachfront bar experience), Tipsy (best wine shop)
Tour: From Blue Mist we booked a Montezuma Falls guided hiking trek with Grasshopper Tours. Make sure to get Ernesto - a truly lovely local who literally grew up hiking and playing in the falls before it was a tourist destination. A great guy!
We booked a Zumi tour to Tortuga Island from Montezuma village. Tour good, snorkeling fine, Island was boring, but we loved the town of Montezuma!"
"Loved this hotel! We ended up staying in one room for 3 people which was a bit small but for a few days it worked well. Cleaning was great and every issue we had with low water pressure, for example, was fixed in seconds. Staff is great and very welcoming. Great location, close to all good restaurants and the beach. "
"We went for the standard room but it was beautiful and spacious and very clean. They came twice a day to service the rooms and did a wonderful job. The pool is the best we have ever experienced… always a lovely temperature and great design. Areas for improvement: more sun beds around the pool (a couple of times there were none available) and yoga should be included free of charge for guests. Every other hotel we stayed in during our trip had this included - when you pay a lot for the room you don’t expect to be charged for these services. "
