"The only reason I gave the staff 3 stars was because one staff member was excellent and that was Fabio the staff member who was just ok was Elena. Fabio went above and beyond to answer our questions and get us what we needed. Elena seemed inexperienced and did not go out her way to help us. She simply answered “I think so” or “I don’t know “ I even had to ask her to look something up for us because she was just going to say she didn’t know and that was it. It also could have something to do with her no being able to communicate in English that well. I think this should be a requirement for someone working at the front desk. Also we could not even open our door to look at the view because people were smoking by the front of the hotel and the smoke was rising up into our room. If this is a no smoking hotel something needs to be done to keep the smoke away or we should have been given another room."

"10 minute walk from the station, similar to the port where you catch the ferries and also about the same distance to the old town and restaurants. So it’s a brilliant location. My only criticism was the breakfast which definitely wasn’t 4*. Very basic in all respects for a 4* - that’s my only criticism. They need to improve that to be a true 4* otherwise a good choice."

"Quirky no-frills B&B located in a historic building in the centre of Salerno just a few streets back from the waterfront. One night stopover. Carmen was the lovely hostess. Very welcoming. She lives there on site. Very generously took the trouble to arrange a taxi for me on the morning of checkout to the ferry terminal. Room (no3) was very large and comfortable, but a little 'tired' and probably in need of a refurb. It also fronts on to one of the main thoroughfares in Salerno so there was quite a lot of street and traffic noise thru the night. Breakfast was good. The usual continental-style offerings as well as the option of eggs or omelette cooked there in the kitchen by Carmen. Parking obviously an issue if arriving by car. Parked overnight in a public carpark near the seafront a 10 minute walk away. Only had one small case so wasn't a problem."

"First of all, this is not a hotel. It is a bed and breakfast type place. It is in a hard to find area of old town Salerno. It was a very unique or different experience staying here for one night but Angelo went out of his way to make sure everything worked out well even securing us a taxi the following morning to the train station. It is well worth staying here but no elevators!!!!"
