"Great hotel. Excellent location within walking distance of the train station and all the attractions of the city with great restaurants close by. Altafulla, only one stop on the train is beautiful. The room was a really good size with a huge bed and twin sinks in the bathroom. The staff were all friendly, helpful and professional. A gentleman on reception booked a taxi for us when we were leaving. It arrived within a couple of minutes. We stayed room only so can't comment on the breakfast. The only downside and this wasn't the hotel's fault was the party disco outside the hotel on two nights with lots music until very early in the morning. This was part of the Santa Tecla festival and organised by the council."

"We had a very enjoyable stay at Hotel Pigal in central Tarragona, Spain. The location is excellent—within a reasonable walking distance of the Roman amphitheater, the port, the old town, the central market, and plenty of restaurants. What really stood out, however, was the exceptional hospitality from Charlie, the hotel owner/manager. He was incredibly helpful and spoke excellent English. When we arrived, he immediately took the time to personally show us where to park, which was especially helpful in a busy central location. Charlie also spent considerable time with us going over a city map, pointing out the key sights and explaining the best ways to get around Tarragona. I noticed that he did the same for other guests as well, which says a lot about the personal attention he gives to his guests. He also clearly explained how to use the communal meal area and made sure we had everything we needed. Our room was clean, comfortable, and efficiently arranged—exactly what we needed for our stay. The hotel is also very reasonably priced for such a convenient central location. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a clean, well-located, reasonably priced hotel with genuinely personal service. Charlie makes Hotel Pigal feel much more welcoming than a typical hotel."

"The Front Desk manager was extremely helpful and friendly. The buffet breakfast was nice with bacon, sandwiches, fruits, breads and comparable with others we had in Spain. Attached subterranean parking garage is convenient. Hotel lobby/atrium, dining area are very nicely decorated. Even though the hotel is technically in Villa Seca, it was close enough to easily drive into Tarragona. The Air Conditioning was fine."

"5 minute walk from train station. Warm welcome/check-in with Victor. The grand staircase in the center of the building is gorgeous and we chose to walk it, even though there is a lift. Immaculate apartment. Spacious kitchen and living area, well appointed for cooking a full meal. The swanky Bosch appliances were an adjustment but a laminated “how to” guide helped. Eco friendly design and practices. Loved the balcony view over Tarragona’s impressive port. Super comfy soft mattresses, sheets and pillows. Giant bathroom, great shower pressure and pristine soft towels. Did not partake in breakfast but smelled amazing. Terrific food and groceries within an easy walk. Very safe area and safe, secure building/apartments. Excellent value for the money. I would invite the proprietors to punch up the “vibe” with greenery/flora in the front patio, and some color in the rooms (paintings, posters, tapestries, wall tiles?) to cut the sterility. Fabulous digs, would definitely stay again."

"Obviously the main selling point for this hotel is the location! The room was basic but functional. It could have done with more pillows. Some of the maintenance wasn't great - the door handle to the bathroom kept coming off. It could do with more plug sockets. Dinner and breakfast are very good - a large buffet with a good selection and surprisingly good food."
