The facility and rooms are clean, and the staff is very polite. The morning breakfast team did an excellent job keeping food and coffee well stocked while keeping the dining area tidy. The hotel is also in a great location, just a few minutes from the park and just a short drive to several restaurants.

The breakfast buffet was one of the best I've had, with fresh mini quiches, fresh cut fruit, fresh oatmeal (not instant), sausages and eggs. It had something for everyone. The fitness center was nicely sized and well equipped and maintained. The pool was small but adequate. Everything was extremely clean. The only thing that almost ruined the whole stay was the beds. They were way too soft, and I actually had the worst night's sleep I've ever had in my life.

The room I was assigned had a faulty AC/Thermostat, it would not go below 74 degrees. The front desk sent a repairman that said the thermostats are starting to go bad and did an override to control on the unit itself. Within 5 mins of him leaving, the AC unit turned completely off. I asked the front desk for a room change, as it was in the middle of a heat wave and we selected this hotel specifically because we knew it was a newer property (there is slim pickings in Sandusky for hotels that dont fall into 'motel' category). The front desk moved us to another room, which was a larger suite, which was not needed, but appreciated. The AC worked fine in the new room, and the rest of the stay was completely fine! Hopefully they repair the first room, and proactively repair/replace thermostats if they are starting to go bad.
