Sandstone hotel rooms a the Independent

"This place should definitely remove the word “luxury” from its name. I give it a legitimate 3 out of 10 because that’s simply what it is. Don’t expect anything nice. It worked for me, as a single man needing one night before skiing the next day. I wouldn’t bring a female or family. Front desk staff stays behind some curtain and it requires ringing the bell several times before they can be bothered to come out to offer assistance. Also, this is the earliest check out time (10am) I’ve ever seen. Evidently, it takes 6 hours to clean the rooms. At the end of the day, you get what you pay for. "

"The pool and hot tub are under construction so we were unable to use them. We didn’t know this because we booked with Expedia and it didn’t have a notice on the listing. :( Also the walls and doors are very thin and you can hear everything going on in next room and hallway. The toilet stopped working in the middle of the night. Luckily we were able to open the top and fix it ourselves. I didn’t see any water fill stations either. But the rate was cheap so you get what you pay for. The room seemed clean. I do wish there were more towels as we had 4 people in the room. I called down for more but there was no answer. It served its purpose but not sure I would stay there again. "

"The property could use a deep cleaning. For example, dusting above the door in bathroom. Fixing the warped floor in the bathroom. "

"This location was convenient and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good, but they did run out of yogurt (sorry, we'll have some tomorrow). The one thing that surprised me was the $20/night charge for parking. I don't recall seeing that when I reserved and it's not like this hotel is located in a city or close to an airport, so 95+% of people are going to have a car. This just feels like a way to keep the listed price low, but then tack on an added fee."
