Absolutely beautiful property with breathtaking views. The breakfast is excellent, and one of the best and most convenient touches is the option to take a takeaway breakfast box for later — a simple idea that makes a big difference. The swimming pool is fantastic, and La Cala Beach Club is truly top level. All the staff are warm, welcoming, and always willing to help with every request. A special thank you to the Hotel Manager, Carlos, who went above and beyond to make our stay as enjoyable as possible and handled every request in the best possible way. If you're planning a peaceful and memorable vacation, I highly recommend choosing one of the villas with a private pool — absolutely worth it. Thank you, Fairmont, for a wonderful stay. We’re already looking forward to coming back!

Disliked: Staff & service

The property itself is beautiful, with well-designed grounds and very attractive, clean rooms. The overall setting and aesthetics meet expectations for a high-end resort. However, the service experience did not match a five-star standard. The hotel felt overcrowded during our stay, with noticeably more guests than the infrastructure seemed to support. There were fewer sunbeds than guests, leading to early reservations, often left unused for hours without enforcement. At breakfast, guests frequently had to queue, which is not expected at this level. Pool service was theoretically available but practically non-existent. Guests had to collect their own towels, and there were no small touches such as welcome snacks, refreshments during the day, or a sunscreen station. Housekeeping was inconsistent. While the rooms were clean, basic amenities such as toiletries were not replenished throughout an entire week. On one occasion, after we removed bed linens due to a spill, the same sheets were simply put back on the bed. Overall, the hotel has strong potential but currently feels unfinished in its operations and service standards. A clear highlight was the kids club. The team there was excellent and delivered a genuinely five-star experience.

We recently stayed at Fairmont Costa del Sol as a family with young children and, while the hotel has many strong qualities, our overall experience was mixed due to repeated operational issues. First impressions were excellent. The hotel is modern, beautifully designed, very clean, and built with high-quality materials throughout. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and stylish, with large bathrooms, electric curtains, and lovely views. The overall aesthetic of the property is impressive and feels luxurious. The staff we encountered were generally polite, friendly, and clearly tried to help whenever possible. Unfortunately, it often felt like they were working within a system that lacked organisation and efficient management, which affected the guest experience repeatedly. One of the biggest issues was transport around the resort. The hotel is built on a steep hillside, with many villas located far below the main reception, restaurants, and pool areas. We stayed in a lower villa area, and while the location was close to the beach, access to the main facilities was difficult with a pram and young children. Buggies were in very short supply throughout the stay, with waits often 20–30 minutes or more. Walking uphill was challenging, especially with children. Housekeeping was another major frustration. On more than one occasion, despite requesting cleaning and contacting reception multiple times, the room was still not serviced by late afternoon or even evening. Basic items such

Great property with amazing potential. Beautiful views and great food offering. Amazing breakfast! We had some challenges uncharacteristic from this type of properties: -we had to wait to get our room 3h past check in time, and 4h past for our luggage -there were many ants in our room and worms coming out of the shower -service at restaurants was slow. They were not staffed for the amount of guests (but the people working did their best). -wish they had more buggies to help take/bring guests to/from the beach

Is been a while since i stayed in a hotel like use to be. This hotel the staff treats you like a king. The make feel like royalty. Also is very difficult to fine such a good 5 star hotel that is pet friendly. I will be back probably forever end ever. 🤗🤗 I want to give special thanks TO EVERYONE. But hande the girls from the from desk are extremely wonderful. But again Everyone is. Thank you!!

Wonderful room size and great staff. Hotel upgraded my room upon arrival. Great breakfast and wonderful pool overlooking the mountains and ocean.

Breakfast team , Marta & all her colleagues really set you up for the day, excellent staff, excellent food , really great stay in this hotel . Javier & the Valet team were great with extra water , towels for the day & recommendations on place’s & restaurants to try.

Hôtel bien situé, offre de restauration bien pour un séjour d’une semaine mais quand on y reste 15 jours comme nous, les cartes manquent de renouvellement. Le service n’était pas à la hauteur, le ménage n’était pas à la hauteur avec un jour où ils ne sont pas passés. On a eu des fourmis dans la suite, jusqu’à dans nos vêtements dans les placards (je précise que nous ne mangions pas dans le logement), le service chargé de s’en occuper est passé le jour de notre départ sachant que nous y sommes restés 15 jours. Le personnel n’était pas préparé pour le week-end du 15 août qui est un week-end de forte affluence en Espagne. Le kids club lui aussi manque de propositions dans les activités. Pour résumer, le logement, les piscines, la salle de sport, le beach club sont biens. Les axes d’améliorations sont la qualité de service, le ménage, l’amabilité de certains personnels pour être à la hauteur d’un tel établissement (ce à quoi on s’attend quand on réserve dans un Fairmont). Nous avons quand même pu nous reposer.
