"Seriously, give this hotel a chance. It took me a couple of days to truly appreciate why the Condado Vanderbilt is considered one of the premier luxury hotels in Puerto Rico. By the end of my week-long stay, I was genuinely sad to leave.
This isn’t flashy luxury. It has an understated, old-money elegance, and the longer you stay, the more you appreciate the incredible attention to detail and service. The staff makes you feel like a VIP. When I couldn’t figure out the coffee maker at 5:00 a.m., someone came to my room and showed me how to use it. That’s the kind of service you receive here.
The rooms are spotless, and every day housekeeping replenishes the complimentary snacks, soft drinks, bottled water, and other amenities. Spend the extra money for an ocean-view room because the spacious balcony and views are absolutely worth it.
One suggestion: explain during check-in that the wristband also activates your floor in the elevator. That wasn’t obvious.
This is the kind of hotel you don’t fully appreciate in one or two nights. Its atmosphere grows on you, and before long, you understand why so many people love it. I’ve stayed in hotels around the world, and this is one of my favorites. I can’t wait to come back."
