San Juan hotel rooms a the Fairmont

"I wish I would have read the reviews before I booked this hotel. The rooms were "OK" Definitely no frills anywhere.The parking garage is creepy. The lobby to check-in is very tiny. The rooms are bigger than the lobby. We did get there before 3:00 PM and they did store our luggage for us. We were told the earliest we could check in was 3 PM with regular check-in at 4 PM. At 3 PM our room was not ready. I sat in the small lobby and waited. In that one hour between 3 and 4 PM… Other people had checked in and their rooms were ready. But I digress. At 4 PM I walked up to the desk, neither lady at the desk made eye contact with me or even greeted me. After I stood there for a good five minutes, one of them finally said "we're working on finding you a different room." OK… That could've been said to me when I walked up instead of ignoring me and making me feel like I was invisible. After a few more minutes, they found a room that was ready for me.The telephone in our room did not work. Which would've been great because there was a domestic violence issue right next door to us. We heard a man screaming at the top of his lungs at what I'm assuming is his wife. We heard the slapping sounds, we heard her scream. I couldn't call security because the phone didn't work. So I ran down to the second floor. No one was in the lobby. So I ran down to the main level, and let security know. An hour later, the man started yelling again. This time it lasted for maybe 10 minutes. Breakfast : scant "

"Hotel and grounds were immaculate and beautiful! The staff was congenial and the concierge/ travel/staff Tues April 7th very helpful in downloading my ticket for my flight to my wallet to lessen the wait for us at the airport. Food and service on the Rustica restaurant was excellent! We are going to return again soon! "

"The Royal Sonesta is the to go to hotel for us. It is perfectly situated that you can go for a walk and find stores. The staff is friendly and accommodating especially at the buffet and lobby entrance. Rooms are clean and bed comfortable."

"Great location, staff and amenities. The pool was also lovely, only a short walk to the beach. You can also rent bicycles, beach chairs and umbrellas at the front desk for free which was nice. "

"The hallway on the first floor has open ceilings with exposed black mold and you can immediately smell it. As soon as you exit the elevator on upper floors you can smell the mold infestation. We left immediately and did not choose to stay in these conditions. The hotel is in desperate need of repairs and updates. It could be a nice place but has not been maintained. I would sleep outside under a tree before I would spend any time in this hotel. We probably won’t be refunded. They have not refunded me for my stay even though we did not stay here. "

"First room wasn’t cleaned from toothpaste on the mirror to white spots on the picture above the bed (headboard) and the doors keypad had wires hanging out. Second room was ok. Room Doors are hard to open and balcony doors as well I cut my finger on the because of how bad they are to open and close. Pool bar bartenders are slow and not friendly the pool bar closes way to early. Only place to get food was by the pool. Small coffee and breakfast bar in lobby but not open long enough. No restaurant in the hotel. Only one elevator in the main lobby worked so waiting for the elevator was long. When at the pool I had to go to the bathroom and the pool bathroom was being cleaned witch is great but not when the cleaning lady is just talking on her phone and tells you to go to the lobby bathroom then when you get to the lobby bathrooms they’re also being cleaned. I had to go to my room and pee. Very inconvenient. "
