Loved our stay here. We actually extended the stay we liked it so much. Clean, safe and excellent location. Industrial fans kept us very comfortable to sleep. The water pressure from the shower was amazing and strong. The location to Playa Remanso Beach is a 1 minute walk. To San Juan Del Sur it is barely a 10 minute ride on motorcycle. Playa Hermosa is not even a 10 minute ride on motorcycle. The staff and owner are very kind. We will definitely stay here again.

A clean budget place with a good communal kitchen but you need to arrive with all you need as there is no store at the beach. Avoid the first restaurant on the left and Robertito surfing

The hosts make you feel at home, Faith and James are outstanding. 2-3 minutes from the beach beautiful setting, quiet and friendly locals. the only bad thing I can say about my stay was where the power constantly kept going out and no air conditioning. It’s a beautiful place but extremely HOT!

Staying in a Casa Maya was the highlight of our stay in Playa Remanso. These containers assembly are located within walking distance to the beach and local restaurants. Excellent is you want to surf or just enjoy the day at the beach. After 12pm, it gets really hot inside the containers specially during a humid day. Luckily, around sunset it cools down and you can sleep comfortably with powerful fans. The caretakers, James and Faith were great. Their personal touch and care for the property shows everywhere. From the landscaping to the clean rooms and bathroom, it’s a testament of their commitment to the owners to care for the property. We highly recommend this place.

Spacy rooms, quite, friendly owners.

Nice place, quiet, friendly owners. You wake up to the sounds of the birds. Kitchen is fully equipped. It could improve in the following: 1. Need to fit curtains on the back windows to block light and heat. After 13:00 the room was very warm to stay inside. In the afternoon and night the room is fine. 2. Plant some trees in the front yard and make a place for people to hang around. At the moment there is no communal place at the hostel, only the kitchen area.

I travelled to Nicaragua for the first time this summer and stayed for several weeks at Casa Maya. As a female solo traveller I place a lot of importance on safety and security and never did I feel any sense concern or vulnerability during my stay there. The hosts were lovely. Always very friendly, conscientious & helpful. As surfer, the 1 min walk to Remanso beach was a treat. It’s a beautiful little bay with surf appropriate for all skill levels. Complete with board rentals and a couple awesome restaurants. It is also just a few minutes by car or moto, to a couple other stunning surf beaches. The hostel is nestled into a beautiful jungly backdrop with roof top hammocks set in the tree tops, where monkeys would greet you good morning. The units themselves are beautifully finished with dark hardwood floors, cream interior, clean cozy bedding and are light and airy. One of my favourite features was the communal kitchen. I enjoyed very much using this space to prepare meals and also get to know, cook with and share some meals with the other guests and hosts. The kitchen has a great work space, is well equipped, and has sitting and dining areas inside and out. The rooms are cleaned weekly and the grounds and gardens always spotless and cared for. It was a fun, peaceful, positive environment, I believe, most suitable for couples, solo travellers and anyone wanting a relaxing, authentic, Nicaraguan beach life experience. I left there feeling more like family than a guest. 🙌😊

Me encantó, es muy limpio cerca de una de las playas más lindas de San Juan del sur. Te atienden super bien, tienes un lugar aparte si quieres cocinar o guardar tus comidas. Si deseas var el amanecer y atardecer a un precio sumamente accesible y limpio , esta es la mejor opción. Me encantó.
