We had a day and two nights to spend in San Jose on our way to Nicaragua. We are so happy we found this place. Lovely, quiet and safe. Lily was a wonderful hostess and served us a very nice breakfast.

Fabulous stay! The owner Lily was welcoming and always helping and warm. The room was clean and had a good AC, which is not common for a boutique hotel. It did not have a fridge but we never felt need in it. Breakfast (choice of traditional rice&beans, pancakes or omelette with ham - our favorite) combined with delicious morning coffee, fruit and toasts with jam - fueled every beginning of the day with energy. Lily has advised us on the best tours in CR and actually connected us with an English-speaking taxi driver whom we hired for a few days, which turned out to be more convenient, cheaper and safer (not sharing a van with other tourists during the coronavirus outbreak). I highly recommend Casa Primo and would stay there again!

The property and room was lovely, clean, and comfortable with AC. The hotel is unique and classy. The breakfast was affordable and very tasty. The manager was so helpful and gracious! She even helped us track down the taxi in which I accidentally left my phone and it was returned shortly afterwards safe and sound. Amazing service, thank you!

Casa Primo is a beautiful small hotel run by a very nice family who are exceptional hosts. We were very happy with our stay.

My mom and I loved our stay at Casa Primo - a boutique hotel in a Spanish inspired mansion. Lily was such a great host, she is so attentive and genuine. she really went out her way to help us through our traveling in costa rica. The hotel is super clean, cozy and well maintained. It is in a nice quite peaceful neighborhood that is in the mid way between airport and San Jose city. Thank you Lily, you really made our stays in Casa Primo more special! We really appreciated your help!

Nice Quiet Neighborhood

Excellent location in a nice quiet neighborhood. It is reasonably close to the airport, and only a few short blocks to very nice restaurants. The proprietors are gracious hosts, their English is excellent, and they go out of their way to be helpful. We will stay there again next trip!

I HATE to leave bad reviews. I know there are real people, with bills and families behind the establishment. But this mess up was so next level, I have to address it. I will start by saying THANKFULLY they are connected to another nearby hotel, so a super stressful situation was averted, as we did end up having a place to stay. And the staff at Terrazze de Golf wend above and beyond to make our stay lovely. They get 5 stars. But, back to Casa Primo.... I booked our stay months back. We had multiple conversations about our stay (when we arrive, if meals where available, etc). We arrived at 4 on New Years Eve (our family of 5: my husband and I , and our 3 kids (11, 8, and 1), and we get to Casa Primo and the doors are locked, and the hotel dark. Very strange. Have they closed down? We call and call, no answer. So we are upset and scrambling. For 45 min we are in the parking lot looking for nearby hotels where we can stay, but, again, it’s New Year’s Eve. We had been up since 3 am, everyone is exhausted, and this is not good. At 50 minutes a van full of people pull up. We tell them no one is here, it appears to be closed. They tell us they actually booked the entire hotel for themselves last week, and that it’s impossible we are staying there. What?! Long story short, he calls the owner/manager (lily) and she tells us to go to the nearby hotel. Thank goodness. But again, what?! A confirmed reservation booked months ago, and this? Too big a mess up when traveling w kids. :(

Super für eine Übernachtung nach der Ankunft oder vor dem Abflug. Besitzer waren sehr freunlich. Die Gegend war sicher und sehr angenehm. Außerdem ist man schnell am Flughafen. Frühstück war top! Definitiv zum Weiterempfehlen.

We had a wonderful time at Casa Primo. Beautiful surroundings and pleasant company.We included breakfast fresh fruit & juices Cas was my favorite with wonderful Coffee! The staff helped arrange tours and transportation needs .I plan to go back!

OMG Lily the owner was incredible. She made you feel like family the second she greeted you. My daughter and I only spent one brief nigjht but I wish we had more time. This is like staying at a friend’s home. A good friend. The owners are amazing. They want nothing more than to make sure you are happy and have everything you need. The food was great: I don’t usually eat breakfast, but I did there!! When I come back to Costa Rica, this is where I will be staying. No doubt.

Loved it.

Great stay for an overnight to catch our plane in the morning. Receptionist was very nice, she gave us complimentary beverages upon check in. Room was large and had everything we needed. Close to restaurants. Room had A/C which was great as we did not have that luxury at the other places we stayed at in Costa Rica. This is not your typical hotel as it seemed to be a converted very large home in a quiet neighborhood, 15 minutes to the airport. Great and reasonable rate, we had 5 in our party and a lot of the other hotels/resorts wanted to charge us extra. Highly recommend.
