My experience here was fantastic! The hotel is spectacular with an exquisite design. The food is well prepared, healthy. Ambience is inviting. Staff is friendly & courteous. And last, but not least the beautiful views from everywhere. I highly recommend this hotel.

What a beautiful hotel

We enjoyed everything about our stay. It was a very unique space that looks like a small castle. The room was spacious, the beds comfortable. We spent a fair amount of time enjoying the magnificent views from the balcony. The pool area was cool. Location was great, not far from Escazu. Highly recommend.

Having never visited San Jose, we found this property and it caught our eye. It’s up in the hills and the view of the surrounding are was beautiful. It was nice having a balcony to enjoy breakfast and just relax while recalling the previous days adventures and planning the next.

I liked its unique boutique style. I appreciated the balcony but the balcony doors do not block out much sound and doors from another room were rattling all night. Fortunately I slept with earplugs, otherwise it would’ve been a problem.

Stayed for three nights. Service and friendliness was great. One night was cold and we found out the next day there was no heat. However, extra blankets worked fine. Would come back again.

My best experience

The best hotel, staff, and service I have ever known. They had every detail for sight-seeing, the cuisine, local hot-spots, and anything you wanted to know for the best experience. That is from the night staff to the manager and everyone in between. This hotel matched the wonderful experience of Costa Rica and I cannot wait to simply catch up with the friendly staff on our next visit.

The location is super convenient for shopping, etc. in Escazu. You can access all the major places without needing to get on the highway. Very easy access to the hotel and easy parking. Delicious included breakfast. Breathtaking views and very homy-feeling rooms. I felt like I was staying in a guest room at someone's home. A little lacking on Security. They leave the vehicle gate open all day with no guard.

Myself, my wife, and another couple booked the Alta Hotel for a recent stay. We were traveling to Costa Rica for a friends wedding, and we chose the Alta Hotel based on the good reviews, beautiful photos, and its location. There were other more affordable options in the area, but I didn't mind paying more for a really nice hotel. After we checked in and signed everything, we were told that the air conditioning in the entire hotel was broken, and could not be fixed. I totally understand that things happen, however I feel like the hotel should have warned us of this issue before arriving in Costa Rica. We would have not stayed here if we had known ahead of time. I do feel like the fair thing to do would have to given us a partial refund as we did pay a lot of money to stay here. They had a fan in the room, but that did not do much. The entire stay the room was hot and humid. We had a balcony which was nice, but if left open during the day made the room even hotter. The hotel would not give us a refund. They did give us free breakfast for our stay which was nice, but I do still feel like we should have not had to pay as much for our stay due to this problem. It made getting ready for the wedding and sleeping every night very uncomfortable. The room was also not very clean upon check in, however the housekeeping team did do a great job everyday touching it up. The best part of the hotel is the restaurant and staff there. I will leave a separate good review for them.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at hotel Alta La Paloma’s. Amazing hospitality, our room was ok, our view on the balcony made up for it! Beautiful scenery, amazing food. The perfect place to stay if you’re visiting Santa Ana, Costa Rica. The is an animal rescue in walking distance, which was a plus, all proceeds go to help the animals. There is also a butterfly sanctuary not too drive far from the hotel, which was super nice,

The driveway needs a redesign, I requested a toothbrush and they charged me $5 and the space just seems a bit tired. The staff was wonderful!
