"A gem in the middle of San Ignacio. Really central - few minutes to shops and the market/restaurants. Clean and large room for our family of 3 with 2 queen beds, rainforest shower, fantastic AC and smart TV. Spacious balcony with full table and chairs and hammock. Bar is a nice touch with very reasonable cocktails, beers and snacks. No breakfast or restaurant, but the Grind coffee shop downstairs is handy and they will bring your drinks up to the hotel bar/sitting area if ordering quite a bit. Would highly recommend as a base. We recommend Guava Limb for a nice atmospheric dinner and a visit to the Iguana Sanctuarty. We had an excellent day trip to Xunatunich combined with cave tubing in the afternoon with Belize Caving based on 46 Burns St, a minute away."
"The property was much newer and hence in a better shape than the other hotel in the area. The place is well located bang in the center of the town with easy access to everything. The aircon was good, there is a fridge in the room and there is a rooftop pool. There is also a microwave and coffee in the common area
The negative is that no breakfast is served. There are many restaurants within meters of the place."
"I truly have no words for Ka’Ana Resort. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away.
The grounds are absolutely beautiful—lush, peaceful, and the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring Belize. But what made our stay unforgettable was the staff. The level of hospitality and genuine care we received was unlike anything we’ve ever experienced. It was true concierge service, and every single person went above and beyond to make our stay special.
The food was exceptional. Every dinner was outstanding, and we loved the special touches like fireside s’mores and the BBQ night. Breakfast each morning was equally delicious and consistently exceeded our expectations.
If you’re planning a trip to San Ignacio to visit the Mayan ruins, explore the ATM Cave, or experience all that western Belize has to offer, I can’t recommend Ka’Ana enough. It was one of the highlights of our trip, and we would stay here again without hesitation!!"
"Staying at Vanilla Hills was an absolute highlight of our trip to San Ignacio! The treehouse accommodation was a complete dream. We loved spending time on our own private deck, relaxing in the hammock, and using the unique outside shower. The resort grounds are bursting with nature—we saw so much incredible wildlife right from our room, including beautiful birds, iguanas, and even coatimundis right outside our window!
The infinity pool was gorgeous, pristine, and incredibly refreshing after a long day of exploring.
Another massive standout was the onsite restaurant. The food was so exceptional that we ended up eating there for dinner every single night of our 4-night stay!
For 95% of our trip, the staff was absolutely exceptional, warm, and welcoming. The only minor hiccup we experienced was on our very last night. We happened to be the only guests staying at the resort that evening and went to have our final dinner at the restaurant. Unfortunately, the gentleman working that night really rushed us through our meal and didn't seem very helpful or attentive, which was a bit of a bummer for our last evening.
That being said, one off-night didn't ruin what was otherwise a magical vacation. Vanilla Hills is a hidden gem, and we would absolutely stay here again in a heartbeat! 10/10 recommend."
"All staff were very friendly and helpful, the grounds were beautiful kept, the pool was gorgeous and relaxing, food was delicious every meal and room was clean and comfortable!"
"I had the pleasure of staying at the Mystic River Resort in Early June and the whole experience has made me fall in love with Belize. The property is immaculately maintained and incredibly clean, my room was upgraded free of charge which included a plunge pool on the balcony which definitely added to the experience !. The property overlooks the Macal river which adds an ethereal vibe to the whole experience and is surrounded by a myriad of varying wildlife. The staff really re-defined amazing hospitality for me, they were both kind and always went the extra mile whenever required no ask was too big or too small and they are true credit to the establishment, service was always presented with a smile and their was no forceful upselling and everything was done in a kind and appreciative manner. The food was also something out of this world with a selection of Belizean, American and both Mayan and Garifuna food available. The excursions on offer were also varied and exciting and health and safety was always prioritized and they were easy to book onto. I truly miss seeing the humming birds at breakfast flying in and out of the restaurant and the sound of the river and the toucans in the evening. Overall it has re-defined what true hospitality and experience means to me and have thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience so much so I cannot wait to return !."
"Wow! We loved this place. My two girls and I instantly relaxed and thoroughly enjoyed the screened patio with hammocks many times. We loved listening to the wind and wildlife. Rooms were very clean and kitchen was well stopped. We had a delicious homemade dinner our first night here and the staff are so helpful and sweet. They even have laundry and the grounds are gorgeous too. If you plan to venture about, I would recommend getting a car because it’s a little bit outside of San Ignacio but the solitude and beauty are worth it!"
