"We've stayed at the Hotel Don Miguel many times over the last few years.
We stayed here this time for 7 nights half board (breakfast and dinner, drinks not included)
We like the hotel, it has a good feel to it.
It's a very busy & often full occupancy hotel, which must be a great plus for Servatur Hotels & Resorts.
We love the adults only concept.
The cleanliness of the hotel everywhere is good.
The food is always good and the staff are helpful and friendly (Patrick is very friendly)
Nice spacious rooms & bathrooms, although we would say the bathrooms in particular would now benefit from a renovation (The hotel is due to be fully renovated in 2027, which we believe is definitely due)
Overall a good hotel, great location and good food, lots of options at the buffet for a 3 star Hotel.
The A la Carte Restaurant in the bar is a nice touch too if you're bored of the buffet (you can book this once during your stay)
Our main observation is that some areas of the hotel now require a renovation.
Built in 1974 & acquired by Riu Hotels & Resorts in 1990, it was then partially renovated. Again in 2012 by Riu Hotels. Its definitely due a refurbishment now.
We just hope they don't remove some of the amenities when it's refurbished, like the fridges in the rooms & the free safe.
We had a couple of problems in our room whilst we stayed here. The ceiling fan broke, as did the shower head & both were fixed & replaced straight away. Overall great value at the moment."
"This is the fourth year we have stayed. We love the place. Staff from reception, bar, restaurant and cleanwrs are all locely and friendly. My husband really enjoyed Daniel making vodka tonics for him. The place is clean and tidy and best of all it is quiet. I would happily visit for a 5th year."
"The hotel was absolutely stunning. I was arriving late at night past the opening times for dinner and so the staff had prepared a plate of meats cheeses and salad and put it in my room upon arrival. Such a thoughtful gesture that made such a difference! Jorge from the reception staff was amazing and made me feel welcome explaining all the amenities etc. I was in the annex building which was quiet and really clean which was nice to arrive to. I had booked half board and so was paying for drinks the light my stay which were incredibly well priced and honestly cheap, especially for a hotel bar! Sara from the bar was really friendly and made some custom drinks I found online which tasted incredible! When it was time to leave, because my flight was at night, the staff offered free luggage storage, a free shower room to get ready in, and a key card so I could still access the hotel and beach via access gates until I needed to head to the airport. This made all the difference and is such a nice touch that made travelling so much easier. The friendly reception staff were able to call a taxi for me which only took about 5 minutes to arrive and I was able to pay for everything at the hotel, again, such a nice touch to make everything effortless! I can’t recommend this hotel and its staff enough, I will definitely be back!"
"This place is nice but I’d probably opt to not stay here again. It’s a lovely resort that I think is especially suited for families with children, but as a solo traveler I think that also made it less than ideal for me. I found the place super crowded all the time which made finding a spot by the pool challenging. People literally were claiming chairs before breakfast started, so if you went down after 9am, almost none were left. I ultimately didn’t even go into the pools because there were so many people (although there did seem to be a small window between noon and 2pm when the crowds dipped for a bit). I did manage to spend several hours over a few days comfortably camped out pool side reading. I’m also kind of an introvert who doesn’t speak Spanish, so ultimately I opted to not enjoy the restaurants for any meals. I did have room service a few times, which was super easy and efficient and the quality wasn’t bad. The African theme was kind of cheesy, the fake animals in the bushes seemed lame, the art on the walls seemed basic and childlike, but the actual turtles swimming in the little ponds were awesome. The Wi-Fi never really worked for me, even after maintenance supposedly fixed it. The flat screen was also unable to cast from iPhones, I think it was Samsung compatible only, so no Netflix streaming was possible. Overall, it served its purpose as a relaxing getaway, but I’d opt for something else in the future if I ever returned to Gran Canaria."
"Very beautiful property with great amenities and wonderful breakfast. Has breathtaking views, walking distance to shops, restaurants and beaches, and very friendly staff. The only thing is that guest services/concierge was difficult to catch to book tours - I'd suggest booking tours on your own for better selection and availability. I highly recommend this property."
"We booked 2 rooms and stayed for 10 nights, the rooms were of a good size and clean some areas of the decor could have done with a tidy up but overall good for a 4 star hotel, one negative is that unlike many hotels we have stayed in bottled water not provided every day this should really be standard if all inclusive.
We were all inclusive and did find the food at breakfast to be pretty much the same each day but good, we ate out out a few times during our holidays but found the food and the variety of food at dinner to be more than good there was plenty of choice and food made to a good standard sometimes a little cold but otherwise very good.
The swimming pool nice and refreshing, the bar very well ran however would have been nice to not have certain drinks pre mixed I appreciate they get busy in these all inclusive packages but it just takes away that feeling of having your drink especially made for you.
All in all we were very pleased with our stay at the hotel especially as it’s adults only and did not feel overcrowded, many areas in the bar area to sit down on the nice sofas. If we holiday in Gran Canaria and Maspalomas again would certainly consider staying here again."
