Would not stay here again. I had to call Hotel.com and have them call the property manager for the code to the door since we never received it. There are 4 units and barely enough room to par two SMALL cars. I called property about an unknown car that was parked in front and we were told to find somewhere else to park on the same street.
The bathroom only had two bath towel, two rags and one hand towels, not enough for a woman with long hair. They were also hammering going on in the unit next to us for a few hours and we could hear every word they were saying. No sound barrier between walls!
This was an oasis away from the city bustle, and yet so close for business and leisure engagements. Discovering the community of thoughtful people preserving this storied neighborhood in San Antonio's history was also a great pleasure.
Breakfast is on hold during pandemic conditions, so bring you favorite coffee fixings to keep in the fridge and you can enjoy breakfast in your room or at several places a short walk down the tree-lined street. This is a great place to stay!

The parking was difficult to get in and out of, but he room was fine. The room had a great bathroom with a nice soaking tub. The room and building was decorated nicely with lots of plants. The WiFi was good and easy to use. Check-in was very simple.
Excellent location in the King William District. Very comfortable room (“Bordeaux”) and bed; oversized bedroom and bathroom with separate shower stall and bathtub. Room does not have separate individual thermostat for A/C control; it was necessary to ask the very friendly innkeepers to change temperature setting to our desired level.
This was my 3rd stay at A Yellow Rose and the first in 8 years. Same innkeepers and the same friendly service as if I have returned to stay with friends. I much prefer such places compared with large resorts and hotels such as where my meeting was being held (had it not been cancelled in deference to Miss Corona Virus). I came anyway for R & R which I got.

It was spacious for the room that I had. The drywall is nice and the fiberglass doors look nic
It was not worth the $150 a night that I got locked into by prepaying through Travelocity, $75 would have been fair because:
This bed-and-breakfast was no bed-and-breakfast because breakfast was not included. I guess, through Travelocity I inadvertently chose the coffee and juice option (that all standard hotels have a at minimum) even though it was not shown on the two sets of paper work I had, one supposedly from the Bed & Breakfast and one form Travelocity. The juice by the way has a best by date of October 16, 2019. I was looking for something like I experienced in other B&Bs. It is not an interesting stay in building as shown(the street side building) in the add that I saw so it is not a majestic home conversion or majestic old building with a fine room inside. Inside it looks somewhat nice to the common eye but it appears to be cobbled together by a handy man or inexperienced craftsmen. Sink light switch off one position to the left, tread on steps not per code...landing turn for stairs the same (dangerous).
.
For some reason they could not manage a wash cloth when they serviced the room. This is a stay in a bunch of other (out) buildings behind the building (shown in the Travelocity ad) in front that have been renovated but it appears to be from other buildings that were hobbled together. After my stay I noticed a picture of the out buildings but it looks better in the pi
We loved where this property was located, we parked our car and walked to the river walk, le Villita, and enjoyed breakfast at the Mad Hatter cafe. We highly recommend this place to stay while exploring San Antonio.
Sitting on the porch, secluded from the street, listening to tree frogs before climbing into our 4-poster bed in our antiques-filled room was a luxury after a day of touring the nearby river walk and Alamo. Beautiful heritage home on a street full of them. Gracious host. Will return.
The location is in a leafy and historic location and is within a relatively easy walking distance to the downtown Riverwalk area, but also within blocks of restaurants, shops, and cafe's in the trendy King William district. Overall, the Yellow Rose is a great place to stay if you would like a nice quiet and comfortable spend the weekend or holiday in San Antonio. A great alternative to the busy (and loud) hotels downtown.
Truly felt like a home away from home. Have never had a more relaxed or quiet stay anywhere else. The amenities were fantastic and each unique in their own way. Within walking distance of so many shopping, dining, and sightseeing opportunities. Definitely recommend.
Walking distance to the Riverwalk. Close to MadHatters for breakfast Feast for dinner. We were able to park our Ford Escape SUV in their parking lot at the back of the house. King William district is beautiful especially at Christmas with all the homes decorated. The room we had for 6 nights was spacious for 2 people. We enjoyed sitting on the patio with our wine. Small fridge in room for water, beer and wine. We booked the room through Expedia therefore breakfast was not included which worked well for us.
This was my first time to stay at a bed and breakfast. I am disappointed as I expected a more personal experience. The house is lovely and the room was clean and comfortable but we were not greeted by anyone at check-in nor were we checked on during our stay. I was surprised by this as I was expecting that personal touch by staying at a bed and breakfast and also there was no breakfast served - only juice and coffee. I am disappointed by this experience and will probably not ever stay at a bed and breakfast again.
Love the room. Loved the location! It was just what we wanted. Streets and homes in neighborhood were Beautiful. Old house charm with everything we needed and none of the stuff we don’t. So quiet and private. Rooms were great and comfortable. Multiple pillows with different firmness you won’t miss home. Price was great. Did not get breakfast did not ask for it. Check In was different but not hard. Kind of liked it. Little note saying enjoy your stay, keys in the door for you. No hassles no wait. Will stay there again. Only on issue the man does not like the rentable scooters. We got a couple and came back to the hotel he was pissed off that we stopped in front of the house. We were gonna change clothes and roll back out. He came off the porch and tossed them into the street. Mumbling about how much he hates them. Pretty rude. Other than that great stay. Plenty of great food and bars within walking distance
Great location. Easy in and out of downtown area. Also great if you like to take morning jogs along the river.

Loved this place. The room was larger than expected and had a large bathroom as well. It was walking distance to a cool Mexican restaurant and brunch spot, as well as close to scooters that took only 10 minutes to get to the Alamo. Will be looking to stay again.
It was a long drive down and we got in late but the bed made it worth the trip...SO comfortable! The room was clean and well stocked. Felt very homey compared to a hotel :)
