The staff is excellent, especially Carlos at night. He asked and had our room at a specific temperature on arrival and made us feel very much at home. Breakfast was quite good….but not free (24.50/p)

The staff makes this hotel so special! What kind and helpful individuals! The room was lovely and the breakfast served in a lovely room was bountiful! We could not have wished for more. This was a delightful stay. The staff were among the most enthusiastic, attentive, and genuinely helpful I’ve encountered in recent memory. As soon as I pulled up in front, they immediately took care of every detail. The room was comfortable and well-appointed with thoughtful amenities, the breakfast was perfect with wonderfully personal attention, and at checkout they even sent us off with a small bag of water and snacks for the road. The location is ideal—just outside the old city wall and only steps from the magnificent Roman Bridge. Cross the street and you’re in the heart of the old town with hundreds of dining options. All thumbs up for both the hotel and its exceptional staff 👍

This is a fantastic “family owned” type of hotel, with attention to every detail which makes the experience as personalized as it gets. The accommodations are fantastic, spacious rooms, linens are superb, you are even offered varios types of pillow firmness. Fresh flowers everywhere, even in the bathroom. Wonderful breakfast buffet. The people are extremely kind, helpful and friendly.

What stood out with Hotel Rector was the service. Literally every single employee was singularly focused on making sure our stay was memorable, and it was. We spent 3 weeks in spain and portugal and this hotel was by far the best one of the stay. Highly recommended.

This has been probably the best hotel I’ve ever stayed. The hotel, amenities, room and location couldn’t be better but, more importantly, I want to recognize the entire staff that made our stay an unforgettable one.
