Experience real Japan with Nishiki
Guest House Nishiki offers more privacy to guests than other hostels as individual rooms are available. The hosts, Yuki and Hajime, and their two adorable daughters made my stay in Chichibu a very unique one – staying at Nishiki will give you an opportunity to blend in with the locals. There is no restaurant / convenience store near the guest house, but the hosts will offer to make you breakfast and dinner at a reasonable price (JPY1,000 for both dinner and breakfast). I would recommend dining with the hosts – that’s one of the ways to experience local Japanese culture. A tip for navigation: if you are outside of Chichibu, set your final destination in GPS as ‘‘Mitsumineguchi Station’’ (or in Chinese characters: 三峰口駅). That is where the hosts will pick you up on your check-in date. Yuki and Hajime are a lovely couple who has a passion for hospitality and share the love of the countryside in Japan. I highly recommend it and will definitely stay in Guest House Nishiki again next time I visit Chichibu.

Nice guesthouse for the adventuresome spirit
My stay was great: - the owner offered to pick me up from the train station (otherwise a 25 minute walk uphill) - the futon (sleeping pad) was very thick, soft and comfortable, and sheets were new and clean Keep in mind: - the location is great for nearby outdoor activities, but there are absolutely no restaurants, convenience stores, grocery stores or other places to purchase anything, so bring what you need - public transportation (buses to nearby attractions and areas of interest) do not come frequently, so unless you have your own transportation you should plan ahead

Nishikin is a great place for people on budget as it discribe its self. I enjoyed every moment I was there. Many guest showed up and it was fun just knowing each other, talking, drinking and eating. The two couples who run that quest house are lovely people. Friendly and they ensure that you feel at home while staying at Nishikin quest house. I'll recommend anyone to visit the place.

Good value, friendly owner
I was very happy that I decided to stay at Guest House Nishiki as it offered a unique experience compared to the typical expensive hotels found in most parts of Japan. The inn itself is an old, traditional Japanese home, and amenities are minimal so it may not be a good fit for everyone, but if you want an escape to the mountains and just need a place to rest your head at a reasonable price, Guest House Nishiki could be a good choice. I believe hikers, campers, and others who do not mind roughing it a little can enjoy staying here. It is obvious that the owner, Tachikawa-san, cares about giving his guests a memorable stay. He picked me up from the nearest station when I arrived, and chatted with me most of the evening. I decided to order dinner and breakfast with my stay, and Tachikawa-san cooked them both fresh, and both were delicious and filling. The room itself was a Japanese style tatami room with futon; it was located in the corner of the house with breathtaking views of the nearby mountains. One suggestion I can make for the future is to add some heaters to the guest rooms as it got a little chilly at night, but nevertheless, I still slept well as Tachikawa-san gave me some hot water bottles to warm up my futon before going to bed. I will most likely stay here again if I am back in the area. Overall, I had far more fun staying here than I would have had in a normal hotel, and it would be impossible to beat the price.
