Hôtel Le St Patrice

"We had a very nice stay at this hotel in one of their family rooms. The couple who own this property, Aline and her husband, are incredibly kind and helpful. They made it easy to get onto the property during all hours. I have two comments; one is that the height of the hair dryer is difficult to use if you’re on the shorter side like me, and the second is that the pillows are really flat. The bed was comfortable and very nice at the end of a long day. We only had the opportunity to eat breakfast one morning during our stay but enjoyed it very much. The croissants were delicious! Thank you for your hospitality."

"It was a lovely hotel. We highly recommend it- the location is perfect. The quarters are tight and there is a lack of toiletries- no shower soap. A slight musty smell in the air and no A/c but there are great fans which made it very comfortable. It’s Bateaux, it’s an extremely old town so you should know and understand this when visiting. The staff were very nice! The beds were very comfortable."

"The main advantage of this hotel is its proximity to the ferry. The hotel is functional, not luxurious. Most rooms are not furnished / have the character of a country hotel as featured in the online photos; they are basic! Insufficient sockets, heating not working, lumpy pillows and poor quality linens and towels. The hotel is understaffed (the guy who checked us in on reception was simultaneously serving in the restaurant and showing guests to their rooms .... he is also, apparently, the gardner!) Other staff were not particularly friendly and their English was very limited (considering a large number of their guests are travelling to/from the UK). However, breakfast was good (chargeable)... I particularly liked the fact that there was an egg boiler available to guests. The hotel is in a quiet area within easy driving distance to Caen, the Normandy beaches, Pegasus bridge and the excellent Caen Memorial museum. We would probably not stay here again."
