"Check in at the hotel near the restaurant they had our name and room key already prepared and on the desk. Room was quiet, clean, and lovely. Small but perfect for our day trip to Lausanne and Lake Geneva, which is why we selected this hotel between the higher priced hotels in the cities (Geneva and Lausanne). "The hotel’s location is excellent, directly across from Lausanne train station, making it very convenient for travelers. However, the property shows its age. The furniture was outdated and worn, the bed frame and carpets showed significant wear, the drapes and comforter had holes, and the room had a strong musty smell. While the bathroom and common areas were clean, the room’s condition did not feel consistent with a 4-star property. On the positive side, the staff was accommodating and responsive throughout my stay. One additional note: I booked six prepaid nights through Expedia but informed the front desk at check-in and checkout that I would leave one day early and use only five nights. I requested a refund through Expedia. Expedia later said they had contacted the hotel multiple times for approval, but their emails went unanswered. If you encounter a similar situation, obtain written confirmation of any refund approval before departure and provide it to Expedia. Doing so may save considerable time and frustration. Overall, the location is excellent and the staff is helpful, but the condition of my room fell well short of my expectations for a 4-star hotel."

"What a great hotel! It felt very luxurious and was quite relaxing just off the lake but with some breathtaking views. Very walkable to the center of Evian and nearby ferry to Lausanne, which made a great day trip. The staff was very professional and helpful. The pool was magnificent. We look forward to staying here again one day."

"To be clear, review based on the annex and accepting it is economy accommodation, the main building (400 yards away looked like a very different story. Firstly, no towels in the room, you had to guess and found some in a sort of open scullery along the corridor. There was no proper lighting in the room, just a plug in up lighter lamp and in the morning, no hot water in the shared shower. Informed receptionist who said ‘okay, thanks’ so probably not an unknown issue. The annex was pretty clean but tired and shabby. Breakfast in the main building was ok/adequate, the setting is absolutely gorgeous. Just a one night stop off to break journey so served a purpose but wouldn’t stay there again, better spend another £40 somewhere for something better - with hot water!"
