"This auberge is situated in the centre of Castellane, with a river at the rear that you can swim in. The breakfast was varied and there was plenty of it, lovely staff who were very friendly and helpful. There is a large rear shaded terrace which was quiet snd you could relax have a drink. Castellane has a friendly, busy but relaxed vibe, plenty to see and do. I would definitely stay again. Ask for a room on the rear so that it is hidden from the buzz of the square. "

The hotel itself has a bar with alcoholic drinks and coffee available as well as pizza if you feel like a relaxing dinner on the patio overlooking the mountains. Beautiful! Lots of cyclists, backpackers and hikers smartly made this their home base for the night. Situated in the national park, it certainly caters to adventure seekers. The room was small and unremarkable but we hung out on the patio so it didn't matter!...
